Oh, Dickie-bird is just adorable here! I love his balance and sanity and cheerfulness--he's not obliviously cheerful, he's just a bright soul.

And you know, I just realized that this is really the first moment of affection we've seen between Bruce and Clark in this series, because the focus has been so much on the ramifications:

He reached out and drew Bruce to him, feeling the split second of stiffened muscles as if bracing for an
attack, then those same muscles relaxing as Bruce slid his arms around Clark.

Your Bruce here is very reserved, even prickly, yet still clearly in love with Clark, which is hard to write and a joy to read! *grin*
