I think vanilla sex means kind of run-of-the-mill sex. Like if a het pair only do the missionary position. :)

I agree. A friend used to describe vanilla sex as "flat on your back, counting the ceiling tiles, while humming God Save the Queen." I've never been able to see vanilla the same way since. LOL
