There is such an aching sweetness to this story. I can almost kind of sympathize with Clark's sadness. I mean, it's not like I've experience anything remotely like that kind of loss, but it seems to me that Clark's loss of Krypton is more like a loss of the history and roots he might have had than a truly personal loss, and I can sympathize with that.

It's true, Clark has no personal memories to draw on as Linda does, but it's still his people. It would be like one of us living among Kryptonians and never having known Earth, only learning about it through the AI and a long-lost cousin. It must unsettle Clark at times.
