I really like Bruce's reply "Do you want to be?" -- looks like he's leaving it up to Clark, but in a way he's also saying "I will, if you will."

And of course they would remember one another, even if they don't really. Because there are things that are stronger then memory alone. It's not just your mind, it's your heart and all your senses that know and recognize a person that you love so deeply.
