Holmesian Goodness!

Soon I'll be out the door and joining friends to watch Sherlock Holmes! *squees* It's my second viewing so I'm sure I'll pick up a lot I missed the first time around. I might actually write a review this time, LOL!

Anyway, I find the fandom lively and fun and there's lots of new stuff to read and view! I wrote a short piece but haven't been satisfied with it. Oh, well. We'll see how that goes. :)

*sighs* LJ is so quiet! I've either lost readers or people haven't had time to comment! Anyway, you'll still be inflicted with my weirdness as I'm making progress on the Public Enemies/Shutter Island crossover, and there's quite a few bunnies hopping around post-Easter! ;)

Ta-ta, luvs!

I love the new Holmes movie, I own it on DVD now and I saw it two times while it was in the theater :D. I agree that LJ has been quiet, maybe because everyone is writing awesome stories that will make the readers squeal in glee.....I hope so!

I really loved Sherlock Holmes and I'm going to pick up the DVD soon. It's such a fun movie and I've read some great stories for it. The only thing that bothers me is that many fans seem so determined to have Holmes and Watson together that they write poor Mary as a controlling shrew or even as outright evil.

Never mind that she's a canon character, it just annoys me because a good writer would find some way to have the two of them together without degenerating one of the few female characters. I don't even care about pairings as long as the story is interesting but I'm losing interest in reading fanfics that take that route.

I haven't seen much W/H slash, but then haven't been looking for it. I don't find them very slashable, personally- Holmes is too asexual in my head and in the books.

Hope you enjoyed the film the second time around! It took me a little while to warm up to it on first viewing, but it persisted like a song that gets stuck in your head. Liberties with canon or no, I can't argue with the casting :-)
