Fic Rec: A Comforting Presence

Gotta rec this one! A Comforting Presence by You_Light_The_Sky is one of the best movieverse Avengers fics I've read, and I've been reading reams of 'em! :) Everyone is broken but how they are becoming a team (and family) is beautifully depicted. The descriptions of Steve's murals are worth reading alone! There are various pairings are in this fic, with eventual Steve/Tony.

I don't think I've read Steve's PTSD and grief over being a man out of time done so well as by this author, so please give it a try! It's a WIP but she has ten chapters planned (Chapter 3 is the latest) and you'll have wonderful summer reading if you start this tale.

It's amazing about the quality of the Avengers fic out there. Usually in such a big wave of stories and with a bunch of newbies mixed in the quality is pretty hit-or-miss, but generally it's been pretty high from what I've read. This story is INCREDIBLE! :)

I'm such a sucker for the 'opposites attract' trope. Snarky, confident marksman/athlete and slightly-trollish, nervous scientist/green rage monster? Who both have dealt with losing control of their bodies to someone else? I'M IN! (Also, Avengers: EMH Hawkeye/Hulk(Bruce). No sub there, just TEXT) XD

The quality is AMAZING; frankly, I can't keep up with it all. Between A03 and the INSANE pace the Avengers Kink meme is going at, I feel I'm missing so much. D:

Have you seen whiteraven1606's Offers of Home (http://archiveofourown.org/series/19228) series? It's another on my list of subscribed A03 fics, and is another awesome 'team gets together and becomes a family' series. Also, the most recent storyline has ties to the old 'The Pretender' TV show, and has had me gnawing at my nails, tearing up, and going 'D'AWWWWWWWWWWWW!'. Sometimes at the same time.

Also, BeBunny's All Bets Are Off (http://archiveofourown.org/series/19340) series. Because of reasons. And ridiculously amazing/hot Clint/Steve/Natasha. But other reasons too!

The 'opposites attract' thing is a definite turn-on! :)

It's fun to enjoy this while it lasts. Movie fandoms are especially fickle and by next year the numbers of fic and fans will have dropped drastically, but who cares? That's next year! ;)

I'll check those series out. I'm having so much fun reading everything! :)
