It is a great thing that AO3 is accepting all these defunct archives. So much history would be lost!
Due South fandom was pretty unique as it straddled both Old and New Fandom, and it appealed to an international audience. I made wonderful friends pre-Internet all over the world through that fandom! :)
I was on the listservs, too. They lasted maybe about 5-6 years after I joined, then the Archive and LJ started taking over. There was some great fanfic posted to those mailing lists. Fortunately, many authors uploaded them to Hexwood. :)
