I knew this was going to happen years ago. A friend was bitching about the high cost of cable and said she wished she could pay for channels a la carte. And I said, if that happened, each individual channel would charge that much more for their content. I never would have envisioned streaming, but the result is the same. I've had Netflix for ages, but I went to basic cable awhile ago, and now subscribe to a couple other streamers. Plus there's Kanopy, which is free for people who have library cards (not sure how many places it's available), plus Tubi, which is free and has some older shows I like. I don't have the time to watch anything more than I am right now, so I don't miss those other channels.
