Ready for our Amazing Amazon? :)

I'll be hosting my final BradyGirl_12 Challenge on [community profile] wonderwomanlove and Wonderwomanlove (LJ), my comms dedicated to the Amazing Amazon. Check 'em out and join up! Truly, history will be made with the release of this film, and hopefully we've got a lot of fannish inspiration coming our way. :) Details on the Challenge soon, and [personal profile] ctbn60 has already created a fantastic banner, ready for all participants. Stay tuned!

Might be why the movie has been set during WWI because of the vitality of the Movement.)

Hi, luvs!

Just a reminder that my 2016 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge is up and running. Get in while you can because I'm pretty sure this is going to be the last Halloween Challenge I host for the foreseeable future. I might do something next year to celebrate Wonder Woman's first live-action movie EVAH, but after that, I'll be retiring my Mod Tiara. It seems as if people on LJ are more interested in Kinkmemes and Big Bangs, and I'm not interested in hosting those.

I had a good run. Check out the Fic/Art Challenges page and you'll see a blueprint of LJ's 'hotness' and how it cooled in the past decade. You might want to get into the holiday spirit (ahem) and check out the fanworks from previous Halloweens. Maybe you'll get inspired for this bat swan song! ;)

A quickie reminder that if you can't submit an entry by Halloween, you're still eligible for 'goodies' due to my
Late Entries Policy.

I've had a great time hosting these Challenges and a big THANK YOU to all who participated over the years, contributing fanworks, congratulation banners, encouragement, etc.

FANWORKS FOREVER!!!

So as the 2016 season opens, the greatest quarterback in the game will be sitting out a quarter of the season for NOTHING!!!

Think about that for a minute. A QUARTER OF THE SEASON. No proof. The Ideal Gas Law deflated the footballs in thw 2015 AFC Championship. The NFL haven't released any air measurements from last season. What does this suggest to you?

Yes, I'm biased, I'm a New England Patriots and Tom Brady fan, but even if I wasn't, I can recognize a frame-up when I see it.

If you are interested in the anatomy of a smear and a frame-up,

Read on )

So there you have it, a man who's always done things right, has an exemplary work ethic, never had a violation, declared his innocence under oath, and received a harsher penalty than Ray Rice, who knocked his then-fiance out cold in an elevator (Rice received 2 games before the tape was shown and people vilified NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell), and received the same penalty (4 games) as Greg Hardy, who beat up his girlfriend and threw her on a futon loaded with assault rifles, then dragged her by the hair and threw her into the bathtub anf choked her). Just recently Giants kicker Josh Brown, guilty of beating his wife multiple times, was given a 1-game suspension even though the rule is 6 games for domestic violence offenses.

That is justice in the NFL: lies, no evidence, deception, and envy sacrificing the face of the NFL. It's like the NBA Commissioner dragging an innocent LeBron through the mud.

The Patriots have placed Tom's number on top of the lighthouse in Gillette Stadium and have hung a banner with his oicture. Let's hope Pats fans scream "Brady, Brady, Brady!" and "Go to hell, Goodell!" every home game. The networks will go crazy muffling the latter chant. They probably won't show the banner on TV. Too afraid of the NFL.

Hi, luvs! Time to update 2014's BradyGirl_12 Challenges! :)

You may have noticed that I didn't host a Winter Holidays Challenge last December or unveil a Valentine's Day Challenge yet. That was due to a bunch of factors: LJ being abandoned by fandom, people leaving DC Comics fandom because of the Reboot, and so on. While my Challenges were always successful in the past, I noticed a downward trend the last few years that helped my decision to cut back on hosting Challenges. I will host a Halloween Challenge later this year, but I really don't know if I will be hosting any others. I'm a little sad about that, because I've been doing this since 2007 and having a lot of fun, but I'm afraid my little Challenges aren't inspiring people quite as much anymore. Like I said, it's due to many factors. I guess Big Bangs are more in fashion! :)

Anyway, we'll see what spring brings (Robins! ;)) and in August, it'll be time to unveil the Halloween Challenge. Beyond that, I really don't know. Like my fanfic writing, I'm bobbin' on the waves here!

If you'd like to enjoy past stories and art, please go to the Fic/Art Challenges Page for links to all of my past Challenges. And you can go to my Profile Page to view all the fabulous banners that [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 has made for me. There are current banners and links to older banner archives there.

So, I hope to host more in the future (and with [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60's wonderful banners!) but for now, looks like we'll have to eat our Valentine chocolate in private! ;)

It's -6 below zero here (am I living at the North Pole?) so everyone who's in the deep freeze, stay warm 'n' cozy! :)
bradygirl_12: (yule (deer))
Hi, luvs! Tomorrow 'tis Yule, so a merry day to those who celebrate the Winter Solstice. Of course, it's also the End of the World as predicted by the Mayans, except the Mayans had no idea about Leap Year so we were supposed to end months ago. Ah, well. I'll check back in on the 22nd and see if we're all still here. ;)

Congratulations to Miss Olivia Culpo, Miss Rhode Island, who won the Miss Universe crown last night! New England girls don't get the crown in these things too often, so major kudos to her! :)

A quick reminder that the 2012 DCU Fic/Art Angels Challenge ends on December 31st and there will be no grace period since the Challenge has been up all year. If you'd like to be 'official' and get a drumroll announcement on my journal, be part of the Master List, and get a beautiful banner created by [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60, you have until then to do it.

The 2012 DCU Fic/Art Silver Bells Winter Holidays Challenge officially ends on January 1, 2013, and you have a grace period until January 31st for your entry to be accepted.

Every year that I do these Challenges here on LJ I always plan on Valentine's Day and Halloween. Halloween will always be hosted by me as long as I'm here, but I'll see how Valentine's Day goes this year. The last few years have been a tad disappointing for participation so I'll evaluate as I do for the Winter Holidays Challenge every year.

I might do something different for spring or will continue with the Dick Grayson Challenge as there is renewed interest for Bruce/Dick on Tumblr and so might match up. Anyway, the two Challenges for certain for 2013 will be Valentine's Day and Halloween. You might see quickie Challenges or year-long or six-month Challenges, depending on what I feel like doing. I appreciate people's support in participating and also reading/viewing entrants' works and commenting! If you comment, they will come. :)

Merry Yule! :)
bradygirl_12: (autumn leaves (orange))
The 2012 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge is now officially open! If you think there's nothing new about it, think again! I thought I couldn't add any more prompts but a floodgate opened and there are many new ones and new scenarios, too. So check it out if you haven't done so already, and help keep the tradition of this being my most successful Challenge every year. [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 has already created a fantastic banner! :)

Don't forget the 2012 DCU Fic/Art Angels Challenge. You can cross-Challenge!

It's really autumn. The 'official' start isn't for three weeks but you can tell by the light in the morning and throughout the day, really, and at dusk. You can feel it and hear it as the weather grows cooler and the geese start their southward journey. The leaves are beginning to turn and the apples will be at their ripest very soon in the orchards. The cries of football fans can be heard throughout the land! The Blue Moon was gorgeous last night and such a fine tribute to the Goddess. :)

I always get excited at this time of year. I get Spring Fever but Autumn Fever, too. :) It means holidays coming and all sorts of fun, and my birthday included! I have to wait 'til the end of the month (the 27th) but anticipation is all the sweeter. And considering the events of last spring, I'm appreciative of having another birthday to celebrate!

The house is decorated with Autumn/Halloween knickknacks and other things and it's time to stir those cauldrons and enjoy the fannish goodies simmering within! :)

Hi, luvs! After New Year’s I’ll be posting my annual Fic Tally: number of stories, word count, what pairings I wrote most or least, etc. I’ll also be ruminating on my writing goals for the past year and looking forward. First, though, a few thoughts on the Challenges I host:

Thinky thoughts )

Thanks to all who participate in these Challenges! I wouldn’t host them if people didn’t enjoy them, so I’m tickled pink that people have fun! And many thanks to all who have made banners for each Challenge, especially [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 who has done yeoman’s work the last few years.
bradygirl_12: (clark (santa baby!))
Hi, luvs! I've got all my banners uploaded now except for the banner for the 2011 Clexmas Bingo Card. I haven't received it yet. Otherwise everything's there. I know that I said last year that I was going to archive the previous years and leave up the latest year while gathering new banners, but I didn't get around to it and decided to just enjoy the pretties and do the archiving after New Year's. Like my A03 uploading, I'm finally going to do this task! I've decided that I'll leave one banner up with the link to the archive entry for that year underneath, and maybe even rotate the sample banners. I'll leave 2011 up while I slowly gather 2012 banners to add.

So, if you'd like to see all the pretties in one place, check out my Profile Page. Most of the banners are from my Challenges but quite a few are not. Enjoy! :)

Hi, luvs!

Boy, I think today was a rebellion against my very organized work on my BBs, LOL! I didn't type any chapters today, though I did some work in my notebook.

Mostly I uploaded my latest banner to my Profile Page. It's one of the loveliest banners [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 has ever done! It's for the 2011 DCU Fic/Art Steve/Diana Challenge. They're so HAPPY together! :)

Oh, yeah, and I finished doing my beta work of my beta's work on the [livejournal.com profile] smallvillebbang story. Apparently I now have approximately 100 MORE words added! ;)

I'm still pondering what to do for my LJ anniversary late next month. I'm leaning toward a fixed number of requests so that I don't lose my mind! LOL!

So many thoughts running through my head! I think I need to take a break tomorrow. Football season has begun, so much of my Sunday will involve pre-game and game-watching, though my beloved Patriots don't play until Monday night. *pouts*

I could do wall-to-wall football, but I think I'll probably just catch a little of the pre-game shows and then see which games are playing in my market and maybe watch a half. I do intend to watch the Sunday night game.

I'll be on-line Monday but not much! Tom and the boys are taking up my evening! ;)

Hi, luvs! Last year I had intended to remove my banners from previous years from my Profile Page because they were getting numerous, and even made Archives for 2007 and 2008, but then I got banners made for older Challenges and decided to allow them all to shine in their glory for this year. :)

After New Year's, I'll be removing all of them and making archives for 2009 and 2010 while keeping 2011 up and adding 2012's banners. So, if you want to see a nice batch of pretties, check out my Profile Page, and you can watch new banners added until the end of 2011. I'm very proud of my collection, and plan to rotate a representative banner for each year with a link to the proper Archive after I've removed the older ones. Banners are forever! :)
bradygirl_12: (christian (oscar winner))
Thanks to everyone who nominated and voted for me for the 2010 World's Finest Awards! I have a nice little batch this year. :)

[livejournal.com profile] ctbn60, if I missed any, let me know, okay? My dial-up speed doesn't do well on pages with lots of pix. Some of the banners haven't loaded, like Novella/Novel, for instance. I see the Winner and Runner-Up but don't see Honorable Mention, so I don't know who won that. Thanks! :)

Thank You!

Whee! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ranger_girl0301 and [livejournal.com profile] khylara for my virtual doggies! They're so cute! :)

I have all sorts of pretty and cute v-gifts on my Profile now. All my banners are uploaded, too. I archived 2007 and 2008 but left them on the page, too, just until the end of the year. I hope to host some different Challenges next year (though Valentine's Day and Halloween are defaults!) so need room for more cool banners! ;)
bradygirl_12: (great pumpkin (lucy--snoopy))
Hey, luvs! Check out the awesome banner that [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 has made for the 2010 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge! Once you've made an entry, you'll get your own personalized copy! :)

[livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 is a joy to work with. She and I have developed an excellent working relationship with the multitude of banners she's created for me, taking my input on some, coming up with others completely on her own. She's searched out visual materials for hard-to-get pairings and fandoms, and she's creative, reliable, and, best of all, is a wonderful friend! I'd recommend checking out her journal for her awesome variety of icons, banners, wallpapers, covers and more! :)
bradygirl_12: (superman--batman (clasp))
[livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 suggested that I post my banners for the WFA 2009, so here they are! She does good work, doesn't she? :)
