Why No Smallville Reviews?
Just a note to say I'm going to be delayed in watching and reviewing Absolute Justice and Warrior. I swear, the fandom gods have it in for me! Absolute Justice got messed up in my sister's VCR and the generous
fictionalknight is sending me a back-up tape, and I can't get this week's Warrior tape until Tuesday because BunnyGirl is away on the long weekend. So I am carefully avoiding all spoilers and hoping I get to see the episodes soon! And you'll get my opinions then! Not that I expect that people are breathlessly awaiting them, but it doesn't hurt to be polite and let people know, eh? :)

Boy, mail from Canada is slower than the Pony Express! ;)
The Opening Ceremonies last night were amazing! Vancouver did a great job! :)
*hugs*

As for the opening ceremonies, I'm glad you thought they did a good job. :) Looks like the international community enjoyed them, really. Which is almost amusing, considering all the outrage I've been reading about in the paper this morning. *lol* I guess it all depends whose eyes are watching the show...

It was so pretty and imaginative! What's the outrage about? :)

The latter especially, and in a way, I can understand it -- they had Wayne Gretzky there lighting the cauldron at the end of the torch relay, and oh, sure, he's one of the greatest Canadian athletes *ever*, but there's at least two men from Québec who have won multiple Olympic medals (winter Olympic medals!) - one of whom won four in the same games - who might have been considered instead. Actually, of the 5 last people to carry the torch, two of them - Gretzky and Nash - have never won an Olympic medal as a participating athlete. Why favor them?
...but I don't want to start a debate, I'm just sayin'.
(ETA: because I looked for it before and couldn't find the statistics, and then did after I posted. lol! --> In the last 30 years alone, Québec athletes have brought home 41 of the 87 medals Canada has won at the Games. --> I dunno about you, but I would think this might have earned at least one of them a spot in the "final five.")

I was thrilled to see Bobby Orr as one of the honored ones carrying in the flag. He was one of my first sports heroes, and from all accounts, a heckuva nice guy.
Also the greatest hockey player evah! ;)

I'm tempted to disagree and say it's Maurice Richard, but I'm thinking that might be like digging my own grave. ;)

All of it's up to debate! :)

Then I can make fun of the show without having to sit through it <3. :)
(I'm not a Smallville fan, really, but I actually enjoy reading your opinion on them. :))

Thanks, Dinah! Well, you'll have plenty to read once I get the tapes! :)
