(PRE) Week 2: Philadelphia Eagles 27, New England Patriots 17 (Monday, August 20, 2012) (1-1)
(PRE) Week 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30, New England Patriots 28 (Friday, August 24, 2012) (1-2)
Whoops! Forgot to revew the second game of the preseason but I didn't get to see it, just listen on the radio. Tommy and the starters didn't play (making the home crowd grumpy, I'm sure) but the team was strong in the first half but lost ground in the second, ultimately losing 27-17.
Last night? Yikes! Can we get Matt Light out of retirement? He came into the league the same year as Brady and was the left tackle until this year. The offensive line is a work-in-progress but Tommy got pretty beat up back there last night. The offense couldn't get into a rhythm due to O-Line issues. Occasional brilliance by Brady and his receivers were seen, and Stevan Ridley really stood out running the ball. Gronk did get a TD. ;)
Ryan Mallett, third-string QB, improved from last week but is still pretty raw. He did well against the Bucs' scrubbinis but doing badly would have been worse, so that's good! :)
Good think there's still two weeks 'til the season opens, is all I can say! One last game next Wednesday against the Giants for the preseason and then the games start in earnest.
