To celebrate the opening of the Wonder Woman movie, here are some classic stories:

Jewels In The Crown II: Heritage deals with Diana’s restlessness on Paradise Island and her mother’s wise counsel about her heritage.

Eve Of Battle: the Trinity before the battle is met.

By-The-Sea III: Angel, Baby follows Diana and Steve during a retro weekend of fun. :)

Author sign--ups are now open at DCU-Bang and Marvel_Bang. I think I'll pass this year, the first time since 2011 that I won't have a Big Bang on my plate, but I'm pretty busy with my Bruce/Dick Bingo Card, anyway. So far, out of 9 squares I have 3 filled/posted, 2 in the queue to be posted, writing No. 6, ideas for No. 7 and 8, and no idea for No. 9. :)

I'm hoping to get back to some of my Han/Luke stuff again, and am pleased to see that METV will be airing the original Battlestar Galactica starting June 3rd. Could be some fresh inspiration there! I've got a few Clark/Bruce stories in mind, too.

Hmm, looks like DC is taking up my time, but I'm sure Marvel will sneak in there, too. Some Steve/Bucky? A little Natasha/Pepper? ;)

Stay tuned!

Argh, word is that the Wonder Woman movie is as bad as BvS (, but I'm still willing to wait to see for myself. Would I be surprised if the movie stunk? Hell, no, considering the DCEU's movie track record, but I'm still a bit wary of 'insider' leaks. Could be someone eager to declare another DC disaster? Even with all the red flags on BvS, I still went to see for myself first before judging. And, yes, it was a slogfest, but Diana has beaten long odds before!

Hola, my friends! If anyone can break the DCEU's lousy track record, it'll probably be the Amazing Amazon! :)

Bruce stared through the iron gates at the old mansion that seemed to sag with an air of despair. His hands were curled around the spikes of the rusting gates as rain fell in steady sheets. He could hear the tempest-tossed ocean as it surged below the cliffs. )

Hi, luvs!

I just realized that it's close to my 10th anniversary here on LJ. I created this journal on October 24, 2006, made my first post on November 12th, and my first fic posting on November 21st (Announcement I: The Ready Room), introducing myself to the DC Comics community here on-line. Little did I know the friends I would make and the prolific writing in my future! Good times, good times. :)

I don't know if I'll come up with something for the anniversary, but I wanted to acknowledge it to all my friends here on my f-list, and who have stuck around when a lot of people took off for shinier baubles platforms. A big THANK YOU to all the people who have encouraged me during low points, celebrated with me in good times, and helped me with gifting me with paid accounts and extra icon userpics, which has really made life here more fun. :)

I've had a great time reading, writing, and hosting my Challenges over the years, too. The 2016 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge is my next-to-last Challenge, as I'm seriously considering doing something special for Wonder Woman next year to commemorate her first ever live-action movie. That will be my grand final Challenge and how better to do it than with one of my all-time favorite characters? :) I'm pretty proud of the many Challenges I've hosted (Complete List here) and another big THANK YOU to all who contributed during these past ten years.

It's been a rainy morning with plenty of fog, but we need the rain after a summer of drought. The leaves are turning bright colors and my sister and I are going to the orchard tomorrow to get fresh apples (can't get any fresher!). Life is good. Enjoy your weekend, my friends! :)

How typical is this? I'm just about to write the final paragraph of the story I'm planning to submit to my 2016 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge, and I decide I've got a better angle and now I have to do a major re-write! Fortunately, it's not a super-long story, but it will delay my posting. I know, you're all waiting with bated breath, right? ;) Better that I came up with the new idea now instead of after posting, eh?

Most of my writing efforts this month will revolve around my [ profile] marvel_bang story, mostly prep for AO3 posting and figuring out how many chapters I can fit into one entry on LJ. I also have to write out my master post for the announcement on [ profile] marvel_bang, but I'm probably going to use the summary I've already used, anyway.

Otherwise I have three Halloween ideas I'm juggling, the one mentioned above, another DC Comics idea, and a Marvel Comics idea. My other DC plot bunny may end up using my Late Entries Policy grace period, as I'm still kind of letting the idea simmer in my cauldron for now. I've already started work on the Marvel idea.

Funny how I'm getting all these seasonal ideas when we're supposed to get a heat wave this week. Thankfully cold weather will be back by next weekend!

Hope your Halloween Muses are spooking you, too! ;)

The [ profile] marvel_bang and [ profile] dcu_bang will be opening soon for artists to claim stories (this Saturday at noon EDT). Stories are up now for early perusal, so if you're interested, check 'em out! Marvel's are here and DC's are here. Marvel has 35 stories and DC has 5 this year.

Funny how Muses work. My [ profile] marvel_bang started slowly, even though I had the beginning and end and some scenes I wanted to put into the middle. For whatever reason, despite my deadlines, it was slow going at first, to the point that I wondered if I would have to drop out (which would have been a first for me!) but this past week has been all Big Bang, and I should have the last chapter finished this week. *fingers crossed* I did have to submit my manuscript at the final check-in at 80% instead of 100%, which is a first for me. Still, it's been a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing if an artist claims my story today. :)

I signed up for the [ profile] marvel_bang! :)

Frankly, I thought I was going to bypass any Big Bang this year as I had no ideas as the sign-up dates approached. Wasn't that big a deal since I've been writing Big Bangs since 2011 and nothing was materializing for the [ profile] dcu_bang and [ profile] marvel_bang, so I decided to see if I could get inspiration from Captain America 3: Civil War. Even after that it was sketchy but with a couple of days before sign-ups closed, I got inspiration! :)

The Raven And The Nightingale is stalled after I thought it was revving up again, but such is the way of things. I think I'll do some more research while waiting to write again. It's just too much fun to relegate to never getting out of the notebook stage. :)

I've got two birthday stories I owe and happily am working on one and have an idea for the other.

I've got some stories that are still in the notebook stage. One's a Jurassic Park tale that I wrote last year in a flurry of inspiration after seeing the first film again and those fun 'n' sexy scientists, Alan and Ian! :)

I've got a Steve/Bucky tale inspired by Age Of Ultron that's just been sitting in the Unsatisfied pile. I may try and fix that up.

And I've been editing a Clark/Bruce story told from the POV of Lois, one of my favorite things. :)

Still working on my Han/Luke comfort food fic. Comfort food: a fic that has no deadline and is generally fairly long so that I can enjoy the writing with no pressure. Even my own Challenges and Big Bangs have slight pressure. You have to work on a deadline fic while comfort food is worked on when hungry, er, in the mood. :)

I might even take a crack at the [ profile] clexmas Spring Fling! Reverse Bang. I hadn't intended to but the art submissions are pretty intriguing, so who knows? That's in the 'Maybe' queue. :)

So it looks like my [ profile] marvel_bang story will be a summer project. Maybe I can spin a few seaside tales this summer, too. :)

LJ can't handle large entries, so I've broken up my DC Comics Potpourri Fiction Archive and the Multiple Pairings/Threesomes will be here:

It's that time of year again! :) The [ profile] dcu_bang is open for author sign-ups until May 15th. Got an idea that just won't leave you? Inspired by the latest crop of movies and TV shows? Excited by DC: Rebirth? Or do you enjoy the classics? You will have plenty of room to shine as this Bang is a lot smaller than its sister challenge, [ profile] marvel_bang.

Hi, luvs!

If you haven't voted yet on the 2015 Halloween Challenge Poll, please do so in the next few days. I'd like to get more feedback! :)

The stories are up for artist claiming at the DCU_Bang. Mine is one of the offerings. :)

I've sketched out a rough outline for Book III of The Raven And The Nightingale. It'll be my ultimate relaxation project as I've got plenty of time. I haven't even finished posting Book II yet! :)

I've got a handful of fanfics in the queue that will gradually see posting. They're in various stages but should be coming close to finished, whether in first draft form or revision stage. Most is DC stuff but there's some Marvel in there, too. And some Jurassic Park! :)
