Great start! I love Lex refusing to leave Clark, and Clark finally confessing the truth, and you have me very intrigued as to where this is going. (I can't help noting, though, that neither Clark nor Lex can really be sure there's no alien invasion coming. Krypton and most of its people are gone, yes, but we've seen other survivors from Krypton show up [like Brainiac and those two Zod-minions from the black ship], and there's no way to know that there won't be more arriving who are just as hostile and just as dangerous. And then there are the other dangerous aliens, like the energy-eater and the bone-eater and the man-eating plant lady and the warrior named Titan and the telepathic alien that invaded Clark's mind. Who's to say there aren't fleets of them on their way to conquer the Earth?)
