Steve’s thoughts about slavery – I’m glad to see there are so many people who don’t agree with slavery and are willing to do something to change it. This gives me hope. :)
And was there more there? In unguarded moments, he had seen the way that Bruce had looked at Clark WOW, I can see, it’s quite hard for Bruce and Clark to hide their „real relationship“. Especially for people who know Bruce and Clark well. But I totally agree with Steve: As dangerous as that situation was, Steve couldn’t fault Bruce for falling in love with his slave. Clark was sweet, beautiful, and probably his confidante.
Steve’s face contorted into a sneer of his own. “You keep your opinions to yourself, and your hands off the women of this island!” He backed away warily, keeping his eye on Carlin. The man was his height but had fifteen pounds of muscle on him. “Let’s go, ladies,” he said, ignoring the derisive snort from Carlin. Steve was great in this scene. You know, at the beginning of this series I wasn’t interested too much in Steve and Hal characters. But you write them so well. I like them more with every chapter. Good job. BradyGirl. :)
She smiled as she began to undress him. “It was Destiny, you falling out of the sky to me.” She kissed him and he groaned, “Angel.” Destiny –YES! :)
She put a finger to his lip. “Hush, Steve Trevor. Out of all the men I have been forced to give my body to these many centuries, you are the only one I choose to give it to.” Perfect!
“I’ll be back, Angel. I promise,” he whispered. He has to be, IMO.
Before he reached port, he learned of Hal’s disappearance. Well, I was thinking about this since I found out Steve was going to leave the island. Anyway, I hope there are some good news about Hal in the future.
