And the parallels between Niagara and Reichenbach make for such a wrenching comparison, oh! *sniffles* I love Holmes being dismissive of the emotions we attach to waterfalls--it's especially painful as foreshadowing, the waterfall of romance and the waterfall of death...

Niagara really captured people's imaginations in the 19th century. I read a book about the psychological aspects of Niagara on the psyche and it was really fascinating! :)
