Week 10: New England Patriots 37, Buffalo Bills 31 (6-3) (Sunday, November 11, 2012)
Well, another close one! Another big lead evaporated by the porous secondary (could ANYBODY tackle yesterday?) and the offense going three--and-out when you needed them to score in the fourth quarter. Yeesh!
But, a win is a win, and sometimes it gets ugly against division opponents. Danny Woodhead scampered for a touchdown and caught a ball for another, and Gronk scored by making a fantastic catch. Deion Branch sparkled and Tom had command of the offense, but he was the first to say that they could do better.
The front seven couldn't stop the running backs but the Buffalo backs are high quality. We shall see what happens with rookie phenom Andrew Luck and the Colts next week! Bills' QB Ryan Fitzpatrick shredded the secondary, but that's the litany of this season. *sighs*
The Pats are 6-3, the Bills and Dolphins 4-5, and the Jets 3-6. So the Pats are in the driver's seat to win the division and host at least their first playoff game but if they have to go on the road to Denver or Houston after that...yikes! But then, they went to the Super Bowl and almost won it with a crappy secondary last year so who knows?
For those who don't live in New England, the Pats will be in primetime often from now on! So you can watch Tom Terrific and the Swiss cheese secondary! ;)
