Fortress Of Good Fortune

Ack, keep forgetting to do this! Have two more entries to go. :)

1) Still basking in the afterglow of the Patriots' Super Bowl victory. There was a lot of disappointment since the last time the Lombardi Trophy was hoisted, so it's all good now. :)

2) ESPN's big breaking story from last night about a Patriots locker room attendant possibly doing nefarious things was refuted by another ESPN reporter, Adam Schefter, as attendant Jim McNally was given the 'unapproved' football he tried to give to an alternate official BY NFL OFFICIALS, one of whom has since been fired for stealing the balls that were earmarked for charity. Oh, yeah, they got the Patriots dead-to-rights on that one! ;)

3) I got a yummy meal at the deli: a toasted marinated chicken grinder with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and mustard and spicy fries. :)

4) The first season of the Wonder Woman TV series is cycling through. This season just gives me pure joy watching it. Sure, I know it has flaws, but shouldn't you have a show that just gives you joy? The later seasons was more generic superhero. The first season focused on what made Diana special. It also had the Diana/Steve romance, which always is a plus in my book! :)

Today's positive happenings:

1) Made progress on my two stories for my 2014 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge. Bubble, bubble, toil 'n' trouble! ;)

2) Noticed from my balcony that there is one tree starting to turn colors. Autumn is nearly here! :)

3) Was finally able to connect with my Movie Night buddies and we're on for next week after a long hiatus. We don't care what movie we see, just plan on enjoying the company during an evening out. :)

4) Adding one more: today's my sister's wedding anniversary! :)

May nearly set a record with one fic posted but three more made the cut before the month was out. ;) Though a record was made. This is the first time I never posted a DC Comics story in a particular month!

( Robin raced on his motorcycle to Gotham Harbor as his heart pounded. His yellow cape billowed out behind him as he careened toward the docks. He screeched to a halt as he reached Pier 6 and hopped off his bike. He ran to the end of the pier and dove into the murky water, cleaving it with frantic strokes. The water was choppy as the wind blew over the harbor. )

Another year has come around and it’s been six years since I created this journal. Wow, six years! Time flies and all that. ;)

Hi, luvs! The first draft of my marvel_bang is finished! *happy dance* I'm not sure of the word count yet since I have to type up the remaining pages, but I'm guessing it's around 20,000, maybe more. And I just finished a section of my profic (the whole project might top out around 200,000 when it's finished) so that's another happy dance! ;)

Both kink memes, avengerkink and tdkr_kink, have closed their rounds. The former will open Round 11 in three days and the latter Round 2 in two weeks.

I'm going to finish typing my marvel_bang fic and work on a one-shot for The Dark Knight Rises. I may start typing up my languishing Mel/Johnny stories for my 12_stories Claims Table. They're written but not edited or typed yet. No hurry on those as very few people seem interested. *shrugs*

Of course more chapters of Rainbow's Freedom will be coming your way! We're almost at the halfway point of this final arc! :)

I'll be working on the new Halloween Challenge so keep your eyes on this journal for an announcement soon! I hope there will be cross-challenging with the 2012 DCU Fic/Art Angels Challenge. ;)
