Christmas Week!!! :)
Dec. 19th, 2022 06:42 pmWow, it's already Christmas Week! Remember when you were a kid? Christmas seemed to take FOREVER to come, and Christmas Eve was the longest night of the year as you waited for Santa. Now as an adult, you turn around and say, :Is it Christmas ALREADY? :)
Heh, I'm close to posting the last chapter of my Halloween fic, might be able to get my Yule fic posted on time, still have a Christmas story to start...feeling very creative. Are the holidays inspiring you?

Creativity
Dec. 15th, 2022 10:52 amWow, creativity is funny! I had a stretch of white-hot creative output from mid-July to late October with my McHale's Navy slavefic, writing 10 stories in that timespan, then I started to slow down, and now I'm hot with it again, with loads of story ideas written down in my notebook. Yay, me! :)
I've gotten more Christmas ideas! Three so far, though I'm not sure how many will be posted before Christmas. Still, there's a week-and-a-half to go! Maybe a glimmer of a Yule idea, but too wispy to tell at this point.
I wrapped all the presents I've bought so far last Saturday. Buying more this week so more wrapping!
Heh, I started writing this a few days ago and realized that the holiday fluff I originally envisioned are turning into sexfests, bawdy but still fitting the holiday themes. Weird, as for years I haven't written much in the way of sex scenes, and then this summer my Sexy Muses went into overdrive. You should see the topics on my search list, LOL! In fact, I was just ready to post a Christmas fluff piece and it morphed into naughty but nice! ;)
As for my sexfests, what better present than sex by the light of the Christmas tree? ;)

Thanksgiving Week!!!
Nov. 21st, 2022 10:33 amAh, Thanksgiving Week! Here in the U.S. it can be one of two things: crazy bizzy if you're the one hosting the big feast, or pretty peacefuk if you're not. The Christmas frenzy may have already begun for you. My tree is up, decorations will go up this weekend, and there are still presents to be bought and cards to be sent.
Fandom-wise, I managed to post 4 out of 10 chapters by Halloween of one of my Halloween stories, and now have 7/10 chapters up. Another spooky story had the first of three chapters go up (now 2/3) a few days after the holiday, but I did manage a naughty Natasha/Pepper story that started out as horror and got tangled up with some light BDSM. Muses, amirite?
I had zero ideas for Thanjsgiving stories until a Clark/Bruce ficlet popped into my head, and I hope to have that posted by Turkey Day. No ideas fpr Yule/Christmas/New Year;s at the moment.
Hope you can take a breath before the holiday craziness begins! :)

Holiday Ideas
Dec. 8th, 2018 01:56 pmWell, I'm really getting into the holiday spirit! I'm finally getting some ideas for holiday fic, so hopefully I can post at least a few before Yule and Christmas, though if I post in January, you can get extra holiday fic during the post-holiday blues, ha, ha!
Right now I have a Bruce/Dick story written, total fluff, that needs work, but it's coming along. And I have an idea for Golden Age Steve/Diana, and maybe some World's Finest. I also started a Natasha/Pepper story last night that might turn into something.
I might even have something Clexian to write! Right now that's kind of iffy, but the boys are hanging around, so we'll see. :)
How about you? Any festive ideas for your favorite characters this year? :)

2015 Wish List

It's that time of year again for the
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
I had a great time last year giving and receiving. It’s a great way to celebrate the holidays! :)
Week 16: New England Patriots 17, New York Jets 16 (12-3) (Sunday, December 21, 2014)
The Patriots squeaked out a win over division rival Jets. It's always a grinder with these guys! Disturbing that the O-Line had regressed (Dan Connolly was out) and the Jets sacked Tom four times in the first half. The Pats had no pass rush or blitzes on their side to speak of, either. >:( Not good to play so badly this late in the year, but the Jets are always pesky. And this is probably Head Coach Rex Ryan's last game for the NYJ.
Tom scrambled for a first down and Gronk and Jonas Gray scored TDs. Julian Edelman was sorely missed as he was out with a concussion. LeGarrette Blount was out for the day, too.
Thank goodness the Jets have no offense and can't make big plays! The Pats escaped and clinched a first-round bye in the playoffs. And Big Vince blocked a field goal, which probably saved the team's bacon. Go, special teams! I'll take a win on Yule! :)
The Dolphins won and the Bills' game is in progress:
NE 12-3
BUFF 8-7
Miami 8-7
NYJ 3-12
EDIT: The Bills lost! :)
Next week the Pats finish up against the Bills at home in Gillette Stadium. Go, Pats! :)

Merry Yule!!!
Dec. 21st, 2014 08:59 amA Merry Yule to all! :)
The Winter Solstice is upon us! When I woke up around 7:15 this morning, it looked like the middle of the night! ;) Cloudy and a bit rainy here, and snow showers predicted for later.
We won't be having a white Christmas this year. :( It'll be heavy rains and winds on Christmas Eve, clearing by morning. The only good thing about no snow is less worry about clearing it and driving, but the weather may still affect people's plans.
As for today, perfect day for getting all snug under my quilt and having hot pizza! :) Last weekend my sister and her husband came over to watch the game, but I'm going solo today while I watch Tom and the boys compete against the Jets.
Enjoy your day, my friends! :)

Snowy Evening
Dec. 17th, 2013 06:38 pmHi, luvs!
Very snowy here tonight. Our second storm in three days! Lots of shoveling to do tomorrow.
I was going to see Thor 2: The Dark World with my cousin but we cancelled and are going to try again tomorrow night. The commute out of Boston is a nightmare. Traffic is locked all the way from the Zakim Bridge to New Hampshire, and Route 128 is a parking lot. The authorities sent public employees home early and urged private businesses to do so, but it's still gridlock out there.
It's very Christmassy around here. I've received several cards and a big package from Amazon. I had to go and get it from my local post office as it was sent to my old address. I'll have to update that on Amazon. My neighbor works at the post office and called me. So I went down and was happy to receive a big ol' box.
I thought someone had gifted me with books and DVDs because it was pretty heavy. I know you can get virtually anything from Amazon nowadays, but I still think of it as the place to get books, its original mission. :) So imagine my surprise when I opened it and it was a CHROMEBOOK!!! Yes, a laptop shiny and new! Omigosh! THANK YOU to the very generous person who sent this to me. I listed it on my Wish List as a shot-in-the-dark, never dreaming that someone would fulfill it! *dances*
I'll have to read the manual and I'm terrible at computer set-up, but maybe I can get someone to help me. I wonder if it requires any extra equipment to connect to the Internet? All questions to be answered! I'm very excited! :)
I hope you're all having a happy holiday season! Love you all! :)

Wintry Weather!
Dec. 9th, 2013 12:56 pmHi, luvs! Very wintry weather here, sleet and snow and a generally dangerous mix. I had to go out for a short while but I'm home the rest of the day, working, working, working, but safe! :)
My holiday checklist is pretty good, and most houses in the neighborhood are decorated now. My decorations are glittery bows. Maybe someday I can get a wreath! My mom loved wreathes. I sure miss her and Dad. :(
A little bummed out that my Dreamwidth paid account is expiring tomorrow. No more importing my comms over there! Drat! What's worse is my LJ icons will be going by January 13th. :( That is kind of depressing, because I love to dress up my entries with the different icons. I'd renew the packages myself but I can't for reasons I won't go into, but I'm a little sadface today. *clings to icons*
I'm working on a fairly long Clex story for the
clexmas Holiday Gift Exchange. It was going to be short and then things started happening! :) But so far I have 14 handwritten pages done and am keeping up with typing as I revise.
I'm close to finished with my gift to the 2013 Clint/Coulson Holiday Gift Exchange. I need to go over some things my beta suggested and go over my coding for my entry. I don't want a messed-up code making my story look awful!
Since I'm not hosting a Winter Holidays Challenge this year I haven't been too much in the mood for holiday stories beyond the Exchanges, but who knows? The closer it gets to Yule and Christmas, I might have a short piece or two to post. :)
I have one more Steve/Diana story to post, possibly before the end of the year. I'm stuck for a title but I'm finally getting some ideas. This one has been off-and-on most of the year as I wrote slowly and then didn't have time to edit and then other stuff happened, but it might end up my first posted story of 2014! :)
Thank goodness for
avengerkink! With so many comms and memes dead on LJ, this one is still thriving!
Oops, gotta get back to work! I'll try and squeeze in another post before tonight! :)

Holiday Whirl!
Nov. 11th, 2013 01:01 pmHi, luvs! Well, Halloween is over and even though there's a whirl of activity around that holiday with buying candy, trick-or-treating, putting together costumes, decorating the house and going to parties, it does seem as if they holiday rush really starts after the candy corn and Jack O'Lanterns.
So, my holiday list has several check-offs: I've got my cards and addressed them but I need stamps. I bought some presents and stocking stuffers but haven't gotten them all. I need some new tags and bows. I plan on decorating Thanksgiving weekend and putting up the tree with my sister's help. Reservations for Thanksgiving dinner have been made. Oh, and I'm going to see Thor 2: The Dark World tomorrow. Yay! :)
A couple of generations ago Christmas shopping started in earnest the day after Thanksgiving, but now we seem to have Christmas trees and music in stores the day after Labor Day! I buy presents throughout the year and store them away until it's time to wrap them because if I see something I think would be good, I buy it. Most of my shopping takes place in the autumn, though. And purchasing chocolates and fruit and other goodies (oranges in the stocking!) of course takes place close to Christmas.
I enjoy the holiday season. There's extra to do but so what? Life can be so humdrum that it's nice to have special things to do and look forward to. My advice for people who stress out is to organize. Even if you're not ordinarily an organizer, try it for the season. If you can get things done pretty early you can sit back and enjoy the season instead of worrying about running out to an overcrowded mall and getting that last present. Most presents are forgotten in six months or less, anyway. Some can be memorable but when I read stories about people camping out in front of stores and ditching Thanksgiving dinner, I wonder where their priorities are.
Enjoy the holiday! These are precious times. People in 1940 might have taken the season for granted. By 1941, they knew nothing would ever be the same again. Grab your piece of history because the tides of history swirl on inexorably and it's up to us to enjoy what we have when we have it. :)
BTW, a little more info on the JFK special here.
