Thanksgiving Week!!!
Nov. 21st, 2022 10:33 amAh, Thanksgiving Week! Here in the U.S. it can be one of two things: crazy bizzy if you're the one hosting the big feast, or pretty peacefuk if you're not. The Christmas frenzy may have already begun for you. My tree is up, decorations will go up this weekend, and there are still presents to be bought and cards to be sent.
Fandom-wise, I managed to post 4 out of 10 chapters by Halloween of one of my Halloween stories, and now have 7/10 chapters up. Another spooky story had the first of three chapters go up (now 2/3) a few days after the holiday, but I did manage a naughty Natasha/Pepper story that started out as horror and got tangled up with some light BDSM. Muses, amirite?
I had zero ideas for Thanjsgiving stories until a Clark/Bruce ficlet popped into my head, and I hope to have that posted by Turkey Day. No ideas fpr Yule/Christmas/New Year;s at the moment.
Hope you can take a breath before the holiday craziness begins! :)

Pats Rally
Jan. 29th, 2018 09:42 amIt's been quite an experience during recovery. Right now I'm watching the New England Patriots rally down at the stadium while resting on the couch. This never gets old. :)
I've been doing a little writing so you might see a step-up in posting from me. Still got tons of stuff to wrap up from 2017 but am starting to make some headway. You'll be getting a mix of Christmas and Halloween and New Year's, ha, ha! Right now I'm working on my Clex Halloween story, which has no deadline, so might wind up finished by next Halloween! :)
Man. am I tired. Naptime after the rally! :)

Week 16: New England Patriots 41, New York Jets 3 (13-2) (Saturday, December 24, 2016)
'Tis the season for drubbing, fa la, fa la!
On Christmas Eve, the Patriots cleaned the Jets' clocks. It was nearly a shut-out, but the Jets squeezed in a field goal. They really didn't have their hearts in it. Their head coach, Todd Bowles, had been hospitalized with gallstones Friday but was cleared and flew up to Foxboro to join his team. A pity the team didn't rally around him.
LeGarrette Blount scored rushing touchdowns No. 16 and 17 and Tom Brady was tip-top. He really is amazing. Watching the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) is a joy. :)
Malcolm Butler, the hero of Super Bowl XLIX, intercepted 2 passes and caused a fumble. The kid's a gem! :)
The Dolphins beat the Bills in overtime.
AFC EASY DIVISION
NE 13-2
Miami 10-5
BUFF 7-8
NYJ 4-11
Next week, the Pats go down to Miami for a game against the Dolphins on New Year's Day!

Happy New Year!!!
Jan. 1st, 2016 11:01 amHappy 2016, everyone! :)
Last night was very festive with partying and good food and company. Today is brunch and watching the Tournament of Roses Parade and the NHL Winter Classic set in Gillette Stadium with the Boston Bruins versus the Montreal Canadiens, longtime rivals. There will probably be over 65,000 fans attending for this one! The last time the Winter Classic was in Boston was in 2010 at Fenway Park. :)
Let's hope 2016 is a good year for everybody!

Thanksgiving Week
Nov. 24th, 2015 06:03 pmThanksgiving Week is one of my favorite weeks of the year. It's very relaxing and quiet, though of course that excludes if one is cooking the dinner or traveling on the busiest travel day of the year. The airlines are bad enough to deal with without pre-Thanksgiving travel!
Generally school is only three days for the week, and often workplaces are only open for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If they are open on Friday, it's usually pretty quiet where you work since most people have taken the day off, like the week between Christmas and New Year's. Of course, that doesn't count in retail!
Stores should not be allowed to open on Thanksgiving, period. The greed of corporate America never fails.
It's a great week to relax before the whirlwind of the Christmas season! So have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! :)

Happy New Year!!!
Dec. 31st, 2014 06:25 pmWell, 2014 is almost over. Happy New Year! :)
I'm going to pop downstairs and attend the little gathering for the moved/renovated residents' lounge but no big plans this year. If I'm still up at midnight, I'll watch the ball drop on TV. :)
2014 was a year of big changes for me. I'm still kind of adjusting but mostly, it's all good. I hope that it will be a better year in 2015 for all of us! Just kick back, chill, and raise a glass of bubbly to ring in the New Year! ;)

Well, that's just peachy. I come in from shoveling a foot of snow and my inbox has the cute little message that my LJ icons are expiring on the 13th. Just the cherry on top of my sundae! I can't even watch freakin' Youtube on this computer with the dial-up and no sound, and I can't afford cable so who knows if I'll ever see Arrow again because I've lost the CW because of signal problems, and now my freakin' icons are going! Great, just great! Fun way to start the New Year! If I could renew them I would but can't because of reasons I won't go into here, but I'm tired and bitchy and I'm ready to cry and I can't do this right now. I'm out!
Happy New Year & Happy Birthday!!!

Yuletide Greetings!
Dec. 27th, 2012 06:41 pmHi, all! As you can see, I've been busy posting fic for the past few days. Expect more tomorrow. ;)
Santa was very good to me. I spent time with my family and we had a very nice dinner, and I got a mix of practical and fun gifts. I did get a pretty bracelet and necklace, a lot of Patriots-themed gifts, and a bunch of DVDs! I squeed when I opened The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises! :)
Oddly enough, I had to exchange The Avengers for another copy and tested it out at my sister's house before coming home and it was fine, but when I put it in my machine at home, the picture is often so dark I can't see details of the battle scenes between Thor and Iron Man in the forest, for instance, and it's very annoying (the problem I had with the first DVD). I guess my DVD player is on its last legs? That happened to me with a copy of Alice In Wonderland, too, and it plays just fine on my sister's DVD player. *puzzled* So I'm stuck listening instead of viewing to a lot of The Avengers. :( I know it can't be the disc if it works fine on my sister's machine. *grumbles* And yet my other discs work fine, too. Thank heavens that The Dark Knight Rises is a beautiful copy! Can you imagine Christian in so much darkness that I can't see him? A travesty! ;)
Thanks for letting me rant there, LOL! I guess I'm just fed up with techonology lately.
On the whole, though, the day went well and we watched the classic 1954 film White Christmas after dinner. Most of the family hadn't seen it in ages so it was great fun watching this '50s time capsule with very talented singers/dancers in the leads (Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen).
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are excited about New Year's Eve! :)
