Well, that was a disappointment! I thought Christian Bale should have won the Best Actor Oscar last night. Bummer.

Not surprised that Black Panther didn't win Best Picture. Hollywood wouldn't allow a superhero movie to take home the gold. >:(

BP racked up other awards. I was surprised Green Book took home Best Picture as they only won for Best Original Screenplay.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse won Best Animated Feature.

Still all disappointing, though. The Academy voters can really be puzzling at times.

Yep, it's Oscar Night, my friends! :)

My fave, Christian Bale, is up for Best Actor. Here's hoping he wins. :)

Black Panther is up for Best Picture. I wish Wonder Woman had gotten a chance at that statuette, but I'll be thrilled if BP makes history for the superhero genre by capturing the award.

I recently went to see Exodus: Gods And Kings because I wanted to see Christian Bale in this role as Moses. I’d seen the trailer and stills from the set and loved the Egyptian scenes (I wanted to see him in those gorgeous clothes), and thought the special effects would be cool on the big screen. Hey, parting of the Red Sea, amirite? Christian doesn’t always choose roles or movies that interest me, and while the story of Moses didn’t particularly interest me, I knew it well enough and the thought of Christian wearing kohl was the clincher. ;) Also, I’d heard that much of the film’s focus was on the relationship between him and Ramses, the man he had been raised with. Possible fanfic here!

So I went on my own (no one in my moviegoing circle was interested) and used a free ticket I had. I was prepared to spend a pleasant two-and-a-half hours and just glory in the beauty of Christian in his prime.

I thought Thanksgiving had returned when I watched this turkey waddle across the screen )

Hi, all! As you can see, I've been busy posting fic for the past few days. Expect more tomorrow. ;)

Santa was very good to me. I spent time with my family and we had a very nice dinner, and I got a mix of practical and fun gifts. I did get a pretty bracelet and necklace, a lot of Patriots-themed gifts, and a bunch of DVDs! I squeed when I opened The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises! :)

Oddly enough, I had to exchange The Avengers for another copy and tested it out at my sister's house before coming home and it was fine, but when I put it in my machine at home, the picture is often so dark I can't see details of the battle scenes between Thor and Iron Man in the forest, for instance, and it's very annoying (the problem I had with the first DVD). I guess my DVD player is on its last legs? That happened to me with a copy of Alice In Wonderland, too, and it plays just fine on my sister's DVD player. *puzzled* So I'm stuck listening instead of viewing to a lot of The Avengers. :( I know it can't be the disc if it works fine on my sister's machine. *grumbles* And yet my other discs work fine, too. Thank heavens that The Dark Knight Rises is a beautiful copy! Can you imagine Christian in so much darkness that I can't see him? A travesty! ;)

Thanks for letting me rant there, LOL! I guess I'm just fed up with techonology lately.

On the whole, though, the day went well and we watched the classic 1954 film White Christmas after dinner. Most of the family hadn't seen it in ages so it was great fun watching this '50s time capsule with very talented singers/dancers in the leads (Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen).

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are excited about New Year's Eve! :)

Hi, luvs! Did you enjoy the Oscars last night? I was pleased to hear that my favorite movie of the bunch did so well, and tickled pink to hear that the winner of the Best Supporting Actress award said that she was thrilled that the Academy placed her with the hottest guy in the room. At first people thought that she meant the presenter of the award, Christian Bale, but it turned out to be the little gold statuette in her hand. Though I kinda lean toward the former myself. ;)

I unfortunately only heard about these goings-on and couldn't view the telecast. My request is: did anyone record the Academy Awards and could you send me a copy? Any red carpet stuff included would be cool. As long as I'm asking, anyone got a copy of last year's Awards when my boy Christian won for Best Supporting Actor? If you can help a distressed fan out, comment here or PM me. I can't offer financial renumeration but can offer a minimum 500-word ficlet if you like. Thanks! :)

Last year all of us Christian Bale fans were eagerly awaiting the awards show to see if our guy would win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Dicky Eklund in The Fighter, and he did! This year I'm more interested in the movies rather than individual actors. Have fun with the poll! :)

One bright spot from yesterday: Christian won Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Fighter at the Golden Globes! He gave a nice, amusing speech, too, and looks marvelous with his long hair! :)

Johnny Depp didn't win Best Actor for either Alice In Wonderland or The Tourist, but his two nominations may have split the vote for him.

Melissa Leo won for Best Supporting Actress for The Fighter. She and Christian did outstanding jobs in that movie. I hope both get at least Oscar noms.

In this world of ugly architecture, ugly clothing, and some people who are ugly inside, why not feast thine eyes upon beauty?

Some of you have seen this link, but for those who haven't, I recommend: Christian Bale: Strong And Sexy (NSFW).

There are some Batman Begins and (one) The Dark Knight pix, but they are not spoilerish.

The 'blue' pic is now my wallpaper. Once you've seen it you'll know which pic I mean. ;)

May the plot bunnies begin!

I don't have a Christian icon at the moment (must remedy that), but I've been enjoying the beauty that is Christian on [livejournal.com profile] bale_daily. Some really great stuff there! ;) Oh, and the Sexy Skin Shots? Works of art, though not safe for work! ;)
