Hi, luvs!

If you haven't voted yet on the 2015 Halloween Challenge Poll, please do so in the next few days. I'd like to get more feedback! :)

The stories are up for artist claiming at the DCU_Bang. Mine is one of the offerings. :)

I've sketched out a rough outline for Book III of The Raven And The Nightingale. It'll be my ultimate relaxation project as I've got plenty of time. I haven't even finished posting Book II yet! :)

I've got a handful of fanfics in the queue that will gradually see posting. They're in various stages but should be coming close to finished, whether in first draft form or revision stage. Most is DC stuff but there's some Marvel in there, too. And some Jurassic Park! :)

Hi, luvs!

Since my 2015 DCU Fic/Art Dick Grayson Diamond Anniversary Challenge did well despite LJ being a lot emptier these days, I thought I'd see if there was enough interest for my annual Halloween Challenge. Please take part in this poll and let me know if I should go ahead with plans for this year. :)

[Poll #2020050]

Hi, luvs!

I closed the poll asking about whether or not you would be interested in a 2015 Dick Grayson Fic/Art Challenge, and there was enough interest to convince me to go ahead. :) I'll be posting the Challenge this weekend. I'm thinking of officially kicking things off on April 1st. Usually I do it on the first day of spring, but it didn't work out this year. Besides, the King of Puns would appreciate the date, wouldn't he? ;)

We're going to celebrate our Dickie-bird's 75th anniversary, so save those Grayson-centric fanworks 'til you see my post! Coming Soon!!!

Hi, luvs!

Don't forget to vote in the poll on whether I should host a Dick Grayson Challenge this year for his 75th anniversary. I'm closing it Wednesday.

Very bizzy around here, though I may catch a break tomorrow. I might be going to see Cinderella. That's my favorite fairy tale and my favorite Disney animated movie. I've seen pictures of Cinderella's ball gown and it's SO GORGEOUS! That's worth the price of admission alone, along with those glass slippers. ;)

Hope you're doing well. Life can get so darned busy sometimes!

Hi, luvs!

I just realized that it's the 75th anniversary of our original Robin and delicious Dick Grayson this year. Yum! :) I'd had no plans to host a Dick Grayson Challenge (sadly, so many people leaving LJ have left my Challenges not very viable) but since it is a special anniversary, I re-considered and thought I might host a final Dick Grayson Challenge, but only if you indicate your interest. Please take a moment and answer the polls and allow me to gauge the level of interest. I would very much appreciate it. Thank you! :)

As always, the Challenge would cover all aspects of Dick's life: his career as Robin, Nightwing, Batman, etc., and would encourage works that feature him as a child, in gen works, or slash or het pairings.

Happy Canada Day to all of our friends to the North! :)

Yes, I know, I'm early, but I've got a bizzy day tomorrow so wanted to make sure to get my greetings in. :)

I've been thinking about communications. Yes, Uhura. :) The poll below reflects that and I find that each form has its advantages. Out of the tree, e-mail is my favorite as it gives me time to reflect and compose a message I feel comfortable with, while sometimes I can trip over my tongue on the phone, LOL!

As for texting, while I lament the truncation of the beautiful English language out of technical necessity, I find it handy in certain situations. For instance, my sister went to New York last Friday on the train and instead of eating up the minutes on our cell phones, we texted and had a lot of fun. I don't know how people can text and drive because texting demands total concentration! *shakes head*

I do miss writing letters. If you were around before the Internet, did you write letters or prefer telephoning? I liked letters for the same reasons I like e-mail and it was cheaper to buy a stamp than pay long-distance. :) I don't know how historians will function in the future because our communications are all electronic now and programs change and disappear, along with old e-mails. There's something lovely about a handwritten letter carefully crafted. Guess I'm just old-fashioned! :)

I put 'letter' as one of the choices for sentiment's sake, ha! I know that no one writes real letters anymore. :)

Hi, luvs! I'm taking a short break from profic and want to work on some fanfic for the rest of the week. What story should I work on later today and tomorrow? Note that the winner will not necessarily be posted next, but will be worked on the most this week. :) If you're feeling chatty, tell me why you voted as you did. Thanks! :)

In honor of just having posted my 2013 DCU Fic/Art Dick Grayson Challenge, here's a poll celebrating our favorite acrobat:

[Poll #1903129]

*facepalm* I forgot Clark/Bruce/Dick as an option! Okay, you can use Dick/Other and comment if that's your choice. Yeesh! Always forget SOMETHING! ;)
bradygirl_12: (steve--tony (profiles))
Hi, luvs! I'm riding my Avengers Muses and the fandom while they're hot! ;) Who out there is just as obsessed as I am? *waves at flist*

Which pairings/threesomes intrigue you? Fill out the poll and you can also put down whatever pairings/threesomes/anysomes not listed. :)

[Poll #1843279]
bradygirl_12: (christian (oscar winner))
Last year all of us Christian Bale fans were eagerly awaiting the awards show to see if our guy would win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Dicky Eklund in The Fighter, and he did! This year I'm more interested in the movies rather than individual actors. Have fun with the poll! :)

[Poll #1821503]
bradygirl_12: (steve--diana (hair pull))
Hi, luvs! I've been mulling over ideas for Steve/Diana fics and I just felt like throwing this question out there: what genres do you enjoy reading most when this couple stars in a story?

I included Horror because according to DC, Diana's book is now a horror comic!

Historical can be any era but Classical Greece is always a winner! ;)

Certain genres seem well-suited to certain characters, don't they?

Yesterday was a sad day so I wasn't on LJ much. Didn't feel very sociable. :(

Today things are better. I wanted to let people know that the poll for my 2011 LJ Fifth Anniversary Fic Request Meme (Build-A-Fic) will be up until tomorrow. I'll close it then and see if I can started this weekend on some stories! :)

So, vote early and often, as the grand Chicago tradition goes. ;) We'll see how the stories come out.

Tonight ABC is airing It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! at 8:00 EDT. Always a classic! ;)
bradygirl_12: (lobster dinner)
Darn it, I forgot to add 'Fish' as a choice in the 2011 LJ Fifth Anniversary Fic Request Build-A-Fic Poll. So, if you're a fish lover like me, comment here with your faves! I might be able to fit the top fishes into the fics (say that five times fast!). Maybe if the characters are at a banquet or restaurant, LOL! Anyway, fish must not be neglected! ;)

For Public Enemies fans, your poll is here. And there's fish! ;)

Hi, luvs! My 5th LJ Anniversary is fast approaching! I created this journal on October 24, 2006 and made my first post on November 12, 2006. Time flies, huh? ;)

I thought I’d do something different for this milestone anniversary, heh heh. Come see what I have planned! This is interactive celebrating, folks! ;)

Hi, luvs! Even though I've cut back on Challenges this year, I still enjoy hosting them! And may I say a big THANK YOU! to all the people who contribute their fanworks and make these Challenges a success. :)

A few notes on the poll: the choices are a mix of Challenge themes I've hosted in the past and may host in the future. Clark/Bruce gets a lot of love through other fests, challenges, and gift exchanges, but I figured if I offered one with a specific theme, it could work. :)

Valentine's Day and Halloween are not part of this poll because they are the two Challenges I will always host. I'm an incurable romantic, and love Halloween, so there you go! ;) Also, romance as a genre generally fits with Valentine's Day, so I didn't put that in as a choice.

Winter Holidays offers two things: just a general theme, or more specific.

Dark themes can be horror, torture, assault (psychological and physical), war, violence, death, etc.

Historical genre can be canon (Earth-2 heroes in the 1930s, etc.) or AU.

The Smallville theme means fanworks set in Clark's hometown (or somehow connected to it) in all 'verses while the second option is for fanworks strictly in the SV 'verse (though if you want to bring in Christian Bale's Bruce, I'm cool with that). ;)

As always, all Challenges (unless otherwise specified) are ALL fanworks: fic, art, icons, manips, story covers, wallpapers, vids, fanmixes, etc.

Please feel free to add comments! Challenges are hosted by me because they're fun to do and with themes I enjoy, but I also love to consider YOUR preferences, too! :)

Hi, luvs! I thought it would be cool to do a check-in for the 2011 DCU Fic/Art Halloween Challenge (blame all the Big Bangs I've been doing lately!). Since there are no sign-ups or claims, this is strictly for fun! Options apply to all fanworks, not just stories and art. :)

bradygirl_12: (autumn leaves (orange))
Autumn officially won't arrive for another three weeks according to the calendar, but it's Labor Day weekend here in the States, and that's the kick-off! :)

Feel free to comment with any other things you like! :)

[Poll #1775296]
bradygirl_12: (batman--robin (hurt--carry))
The results are in! The genre for Bruce/Dick will be hurt/comfort and the genre for Steve/Diana will be slice-of-life! Thanks for voting. :)
bradygirl_12: (fairy (blond--reflected water))
Hi, luvs! The winning couple in yesterday's poll is Clark/Dick! Fluff coming soon! :)

As a 'thank you' to all who participated, I've decided to do drabbles for the other couples as well. Vote for the genre you want! I'll leave this up for at least 24 hours. :)
