Happy Boxing Day!!!
Dec. 26th, 2022 10:27 amTee hee, Happy Boxing Day, luvs! Hope your holiday yesterday was a good one.
I had a nice, laidback day. I went over to my sister's, opened presents, and had dinner. We (including her hubby and MIL) spent the afternoon watching old favorite TV episodes from her DVR, many of which we could quote chapter-and- verse, but were still funny! :)
I got some very nice prsents: clothes, chocolates, books, DVDs and some practical stuff like toothpaste in my stocking, needed because of all the candy. :) I gave all edible gifts, which my recipients loved, so go, me!
I got home and watched a little TV while doing a little writing and hit the sack early. Today is a day of no chores and doing nothing but playing on my laptop and maybe some writing. Oh. yeah, and reading. Reading is the lifeblood of the imagination! :)
Enjoy your day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! :)
Nov. 24th, 2022 10:41 amHappy Thanksgiving!!! :)
Got my weekly cleaning done yesterday because I'm more interested in decorating than cleaning tomorrow, ha, ha. Today I took my walk, am watching some of the parade, and ready to go to the big feast in awhile. :) By the time I get home later, the turkey will be working on me and I'll be watching football, including my Patriots during the night game. A day of doing nothing but what I want to do. Rare but true! :)

Tomorrow's Fun
Sep. 26th, 2022 10:33 am*claps hands*
A friend of mine just invited me out to lunch tomorrow on my birthday. Yay, me! I haven't been to a restaurant in ages. Good company, good food, and it's free! ;)
My sister already gifted me with cute stuff: a Halloween-themed wall hanging, a pretty blue purse, and two pairs of cute socks: Snoopy and Daffy Duck. I LOVE cute! :D

Halloween Week!!!
Oct. 26th, 2021 07:20 pmIt's Halloween Week!!! :)
Fitting Halloween weather, as the Munsters and Addams Family would say, as it'll be raining all week. We are at peak color now, delayed because of our very rainy summer.
Last month my sister treated me to lunch on my birthday at an Italian restaurant I'd never been to before. We both enjoyed baked haddock, my sister ordering green beans and I sampled the linguine. *mmwa* Also great homemade bread.
We topped it off by going next door to the Italian bakery and buying chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. Oh, my, heaven! :)
Oh, the golden days of fall! :)
Holiday Time
Dec. 4th, 2020 11:10 amHope you're all doing well during this busy time of the year. Of course it'll be somewhat different this year (anyone else tired of COVID?) but festivity should still be around for us to enjoy. My tree and decorations are up and I'm working on presents. Weather is cold but not too cold, and I'll be cooking pasta with chunky garden sauce and meatballs tonight. :)
I've got a good-sized fanfic queue (even managed a Christmas-themed story) and have been working like crazy on original fic. It's good to be productive! :)
Got a stiff neck from sleeping awkwardly, methinks, so that's a thing for now. I hope you're all well and not too stressed with stupid COVID and the holidays! I did hear that people are decorating earlier than usual because they want holiday cheer! :)
It's Halloween Week!!! :)
Oct. 26th, 2020 09:53 amIt's Halloween Week!!! :)
Yes, it's the best time of year. The colors of the trees around here are at their peak, brilliant yellows, oranges and reds, and the harvest of pumpkins and gourds are bountiful. The weather is cool and they are predicting snow showers on Friday!
My sister and I went to the apple orchard the Saturday before last and picked up fresh apples, an apple pie, and giant cookies. I got peanut butter for the cookie. :)
We went to The Old Mill again and she had a big Caesar salad while I had pot roast, red bliss potatoes, and we shared boneless Buffalo wings for an appetizer. We also shared lemon meringue pie for dessert. Yum! :)
The ducks were gliding along the pond and the mini waterfall was gushing after recent rains. It was beautiful as usual. Ironically, it had been years between visits to this restaurant on my birthday last month, and now it was only a matter of weeks between that visit and this one. Ha, life is funny!
The IonPlus Channel is presenting spooky episodes of Murdoch Mysteries on Halloween from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. They do spooky very well! :)
Enjoy the week, folks!
Great Day!!! :)
Sep. 28th, 2020 06:00 pmI had a GREAT birthday yesterday! My sister and brother-in-law treated me to dinner at The Old Mill, a restaurant in a lovely setting. The food was fabulous. My sis and I had the grilled haddock and my bro-in-law Yankee pot roast. I also had a baked potato with light butter and we all shared Buffalo wings as an appetizer.
I also had a cool surprise: ice cream cake with real whipped cream for dessert! I got serenaded and all three of us made short work of that cake, tee hee! :)
On the way home we stopped and BunnyGirl and MooseGuy picked up pumpkins and gourds (I already had mine) but they gifted me with a baby ghost pumpkin for my birthday. :)
At home we watched the rest of the Pats-Raiders game, which was a Pats win, so yay, me! :)
After BunnyGirl and MooseGuy left I watched Tom Brady win his game with the Buccaneers, and then I tuned in Murdoch Mysteries. I'm lovin' this Victorian/Edwardian Canadian mystery show! :)
So I was a very happy camper! :)
Thanksgiving Week!
Nov. 25th, 2019 07:09 pmIt's Thanksgiving Week!
If you're not traveling or cooking the feast, it can be a relaxing week before the holiday whirl really begins. The leaves are down, the days and nights are growing colder and the days are growing shorter. Time for sparkles and sequins and secrets under the tree as the nights grow longer! :)
First, the Feast! :)

Autumn has been here awhile. The days are cool and bright and the nights are cool, too. There are a few patches of color, but the trees won't give us the full show for awhile. The harvest will be bountiful (pumpkins, gourds, apples, etc.) and, of, course, Halloween will be approaching on stealthy feet. :) I'll be visiting Dunkin' Donuts for some pumpkin doughnuts and muffins, and there will be pumpkin cookies in the supermarket. Pumpkin, pumpkin, PUMPKIN!!! :)
Hope everyone is excited for fall! :)

Halloween Fun
Nov. 2nd, 2018 01:30 pmHi, luvs!
Halloween was a lot of fun at work this year. We all dressed up and had a party. We carved pumpkins (mine was a bat!) and ate food that the Culinary Arts students prepared while music played. I had a doughnut hole, two slices of bruschetta, and cranberries on toast. The punch was just right, not too sweet.
I wore my Ghouls' Night Out T-shirt, black pants and shoes, a purple Witch hat, black, yellow and orange beads, a Jack O'Lantern bracelet and a diamond-eyed (not real, ha!) snake bracelet. My make-up was a little wild and pictures were taken of everyone. Others dressed up as a voodoo boca, a cat, Cruella De Ville, zombies and a spiderwoman. Treats were given out (I brought some candy, too) and I probably overdosed on sugar, tee hee.
The lobby was filled with ghosts and mummies (cut-outs) and three Witches bent over a cauldron. The dolls were adorable! In my office was a ghost and a plastic Jack O'Lantern holding a wand. :)
We left all the decorations up for the rest of the week and will take them down Monday. It was a lot of fun!
After work was oohing and aahing over cute little trick-or-treaters and lighting candles for an appropriately spooky atmosphere while watching TV in-between answering the doorbell.
Hope you all had fun, too! :)

Are You Excited?
Oct. 21st, 2018 09:52 amAre you excited that Halloween is almost here? I am; I am! ;)
I'm putting together my costume to wear and watching Halloween Wars and the Halloween Baking Championship on the Food Network when I can snatch some TV time and looking forward to the Halloween-themed shows for the next few weeks. My place is decorated and I'm ready!
How about you? :)

Great Day!!! :)
Sep. 27th, 2018 05:56 pmI had a great birthday! My sister sent me funny, celebratory pictures this morning on my phone and had treated me a few weeks ago to a birthday lunch after we visited our favorite apple orchard that was holding a craft fair. Very cool stuff! She also bought me apples and an apple pie. :)
She treated me early because she knew she was going to be busy this weekend. I got a real cute birthday card, too! :)
My co-workers were super-nice and gave me a box of chocolates and surprised me with a strawberry shortcake! So working on my birthday was pretty cool. :)
This weekend it's time to visit my local farm stand and get a baby pumpkin and gourds. Best time of year! :)
