( It was Gotham’s first snowfall of the year, and since it was Gotham, it was not a typical ‘first time’. It had stated innocently enough, with fat, fluffy flakes lightly falling as children squealed in delight and adults admired how pretty even the city looked when covered in pristine snow. )

Hi, luvs! Tomorrow 'tis Yule, so a merry day to those who celebrate the Winter Solstice. Of course, it's also the End of the World as predicted by the Mayans, except the Mayans had no idea about Leap Year so we were supposed to end months ago. Ah, well. I'll check back in on the 22nd and see if we're all still here. ;)

Congratulations to Miss Olivia Culpo, Miss Rhode Island, who won the Miss Universe crown last night! New England girls don't get the crown in these things too often, so major kudos to her! :)

The 2012 DCU Fic/Art Silver Bells Winter Holidays Challenge officially ends on January 1, 2013, and you have a grace period until January 31st for your entry to be accepted.

Every year that I do these Challenges here on LJ I always plan on Valentine's Day and Halloween. Halloween will always be hosted by me as long as I'm here, but I'll see how Valentine's Day goes this year. The last few years have been a tad disappointing for participation so I'll evaluate as I do for the Winter Holidays Challenge every year.

I might do something different for spring or will continue with the Dick Grayson Challenge as there is renewed interest for Bruce/Dick on Tumblr and so might match up. Anyway, the two Challenges for certain for 2013 will be Valentine's Day and Halloween. You might see quickie Challenges or year-long or six-month Challenges, depending on what I feel like doing. I appreciate people's support in participating and also reading/viewing entrants' works and commenting! If you comment, they will come. :)

I recommend checking out the Fest. Lots of high-quality stuff over there! A prompt I submitted, Sunshine, was claimed for both art and fic.

The art fill, Sunshine, is gorgeous. The first page is rather dark (at least on my computer) but keep clicking on the links for the subsequent pages. In fact, Page 2 has a panel of Dick that is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen of him. It’s breathtaking! The expressions on both him and Bruce show us just what they’re feeling. Stoopz is an incredible artist.

The fic fill, He’s Gold-Tipped And Tinted by uses words to paint a picture of our beautiful bird in all his sunshine glory. This is an exquisite little piece by thesunkid that I think you’ll agree is just as breathtaking as the art fill.

Hi, luvs! The first draft of my

marvel_bang is finished! *happy dance* I'm not sure of the word count yet since I have to type up the remaining pages, but I'm guessing it's around 20,000, maybe more. And I just finished a section of my profic (the whole project might top out around 200,000 when it's finished) so that's another happy dance! ;)

tdkr_kink, have closed their rounds. The former will open Round 11 in three days and the latter Round 2 in two weeks.

I'm going to finish typing my

marvel_bang fic and work on a one-shot for The Dark Knight Rises. I may start typing up my languishing Mel/Johnny stories for my

12_stories Claims Table. They're written but not edited or typed yet. No hurry on those as very few people seem interested. *shrugs*
