CRACK’D
Lex was suddenly looking down at Clark, who was kneeling before him.
How he got here, he didn’t know. A quick glance over at Alexander showed his body still there, eyes glazed.
A hot surge of lust filled his body as he gazed down at Clark.
Lift your head, Clark. I want to see that pretty mouth, and have you put it to good use.
A flush of embarrassment went through him. Thoughts like that had been with him ever since he had first laid eyes on Clark. Trembling with need, he reached out and ran his fingers through ebony silk, images of Clark’s mouth around his cock, his to command.
He took his hand away.
“Swear fealty to me.”
I didn’t want to say that. I want to say open your mouth and suck me.
Clark lifted his head, green eyes shimmering and perfect mouth so close…
& & & & & &
Lex blinked, back in his own body. Dizzy, he watched as Clark lifted his hand and Zod took it…
And then the world exploded.
& & & & & &
He screamed for Clark and Alexander, the walls crumbling as the green glow spilled out from the widening cracks, the ceiling caving in.
Pain ran like fire along his nerves, fear eating him up as smoke and white light blinded him, his throat raw from the screaming. He stumbled, stomach sick as he remembered Alexander torn from his grasp.
Clark? Where was Clark?
“Zod, you bastard! Get out of my head now!”
Lex was horrified to see rubble everywhere, the ruins of a once-promising life, and he threw aside beams and chunks of ceiling, frantically digging until he saw the shreds of a blue T-shirt. He moaned.
With strength born of desperation, he heaved a large section of ceiling away, and knelt as he brushed the hair back from Clark’s closed eyes.
The eyes opened, green and clear, and Clark spoke his name.
“I’m here. I won’t let you die,” Lex said.
“I think that’s my line.”
“I’m not the one under a mountain of debris.”
Clark’s smile was gentle. “You always tried to keep this part of you buried, or at least hidden away from the world…except for me.”
“Well, a lot of good it did me.” Lex tried to keep his tone light, but a thread of bitterness crept in.
Clark reached a bloodied hand up and grasped his hand.
“Don’t ever bury this part of yourself again, Lex.”
Lex wanted to believe, oh so badly…
“Where’s Zod?”
“Gone.” Clark opened his other hand, the crystal shining. “You’re free, Lex.”
Lex felt hope blossom in his chest. His headache wasn’t as bad, and things were better with him and Clark, and…
The green glow tinged Clark’s skin as his eyes began to close.
“Clark, wait! What’s going on?”
“Meteor rock…”
“Yes, I know.” Lex frowned. “It’s my meteor rock infection.”
“The cracks…” Clark’s eyes were frightened. “…all of this, Zod, the exorcism…everything’s crumbling.” He looked at Lex, sadness shining in his eyes, their greenness deeper than the glow surrounding them.
“Wait, Clark, what do you mean? What’s Zod got to do with all of this falling apart around us? Clark! Clark!”
The ceiling completely caved in, Clark’s sad eyes disappearing under a mountain of debris as the cracks widened like earth splitting apart during a quake, dust and smoke green as Lex screamed, the foundation cracking…
& & & & & &
His eyes opened to blue skies and he felt a cool breeze touch his skin. His head throbbed and his stomach twisted, and then Clark’s face appeared over him, green eyes anxious.
“Are you all right, Lex? How do you feel?”
“Wha…?” He could still feel Clark’s hand holding his. “What…what happened?”
“You were…possessed…”
“…by Zod.”
Clark nodded hesitantly. “I got rid of him.”
Lex remembered fragments, cracks splitting his head in two…he gripped Clark’s hand tighter.
“Clark, don’t leave. Zod…the possession…released my...meteor infection…”
Clark put a hand on his brow, testing for temperature. Concern was shining in his eyes, something that Lex hadn’t seen in a long time.
He could feel the molten lava of green madness flowing into his veins and nerves, his sanity unraveling, his heart breaking as he remembered the other Clark, who’d been his friend again.
“Clark, please. I need you. You’re my grip on sanity.”
Fear showed in Clark’s face. “Lex, hold on. Don’t let the infection win!”
“I need you…to believe in me…despite past sins…”
Nausea welled up in Lex. A film of green was was starting to crisp across his vision…
“No!” he cried.
“I won’t let you go!” Clark said fiercely. “Not this time!”
Lex grabbed Clark’s arm with his free hand. “Don’t let me go…believe...in me…”
“I believe in you, Lex.” Warm lips brushed his. “I’ll be your strength.” Suddenly green eyes shimmered love at him. “Be my strength, too, Lex.”
Lex hung on, desperate yet determined.
No more lies, no more misunderstandings.
No more missed opportunities.
A young voice whispered in his ear, “Clark will always be our friend.”
He felt the madness begin to recede as he was lifted up and embraced.
