Can someone please explain to me why LJ insists upon 'improving' things THAT DON'T NEED IMPROVEMENT?

The Profile Page was perfectly fine the way it was! Why did they have to change it? Because in all honesty, I don't see that the changes made things any better. It's just different and seems like they only did it to give people an excuse to work on a project. When they changed the Rich Text Editor, the LJ cut didn't work. I haven't tried it since then, but the principle is: every time they change something, it messes things up!

It's a shame they don't have an option as to which way we want the Profile Page to look, because I'd boot the 'new look' right away. Didn't they learn anything from New Coke? *rolls eyes*

I hate the new profile page...as you say...why mess with something that was perfectly fine as it was? I'd like to opt back to the old profile page.

The new profile looks ugly and I have no idea what they were thinking. Considering the reactions to it on lj_design, I think that most people do.

LJ doesn't inspire me to hope for the old one back! They seem to dig in their heels when people complain and never admit to making a mistake!

Apparently, LJ just has to keep their design and coding department employees occupied with busy work. Personally, I don't like the new profile page, either. I don't think it does anything aesthetically, nor does it make finding information any easier.

I was just over at lj_design, and there are 53 pages of people who absolutely HATE it. Also reasons they give for changing it: it didn't look good on the screen, it hadn't been changed for years, etc. Great reasons, since No. 1, it looked fine, and No. 2, SO WHAT? It's change for the sake of change. Yeesh!

They'll never change it back. They NEVER listen to their users.
