I stared at Bruce.

No, Batman.

My cape fluttered out behind me as I floated in front of the brooding gargoyle mounted on one of Gotham’s venerable old buildings. Stars twinkled in the clear violet twilight as dawn was seconds away, ribbons of rose-pink, lemon-yellow, and burnt orange beginning to streak across the sky.

Batman was like the stone he perched on: implacable and unyielding. I had asked him yet again to be with me, not to consider our one night together to be a mistake. I had tried and tried, but Batman…and Bruce…had put up a wall that not even my super-strength could get through.

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks: he was never going to let me in.

I needed more from him than he could give me.

“Goodbye, Bruce,” I said softly, then I slowly floated away.

Sometimes I just wanna slap that Bat. Bruce, how can you let the best thing in your life just float away!
Yes this fic affected me to virtual violence which just goes to show you how powerful it is.
Thank you for sharing baby. (b*tchslapping Batman into intelligence)

Hugs Clark. Don't give up. If Superman can't get through to Bruce, maybe Clark or Kal-el can.

That's sad. I hope Clark wouldn't give up too soon. This is a job for Superman!

Oooh, very bleak and nice. I like the theme of the immovable object and the irresistible (or maybe not so much so this time)force...and the tie-in to the prompt was very delicate and beautiful (and sad!)

Oh, the sadness, the angst. (Yay!) That was beautifully written. Bruce is so stubborn, but Clark will prevail, I just know it. Stubborness, thy name is Bruce. I love your imagery. Thank you for posting this.

Oh, my heart! *clutches chest* I swear, you killed me with this. You are just so good with the angst. Poor Superman! Why won't you let him in, Bruce? :(

The descriptions were beautiful and I just felt so bad for both of them, because they could be amazing together if Bruce wasn't being all stubborn. I hope that Clark doesn't really give up or maybe Bruce will come to his senses and pursue Clark! They deserve to be happy.

Anyway, this piece was really great. I loved it.

Wonderful job!

great!
