Divisional Round: New England Patriots 43, Indianapolis Colts 22 (1-0) (12-5) (Saturday, January 11, 2014)

Yes! Tom and the boys are going to the AFC Championship Game, Tom’s 8th in his 14-year career. Not bad, eh?

Once again, LeGarrette Blount was the man, running all over the Colts for FOUR touchdowns and a bunch of yards, and Stevan Ridley ran for 2 touchdowns, leaving Tom with no passing TDs! But he’ll take the win. ;)

Tom also was the holder on an extra point since punter Ryan Allen was hurt on a previous play. Looks like he might have a new job! ;)

Rookie LB Jamie Collins was all over the place, hurrying the quarterback, deflecting passes, intercepting a ball, and getting a sack.

Rain poured the entire night at Gillette Stadium and the wind was gusty, so most likely that was one of the reasons for the predominance of the running game. Will we see more power running next week? The Pats game plan differently every week, so who knows? They tailor their plan for the opponent instead of trying to run a game plan despite what the other team does.

Be prepared for the national media fawning over Peyton while ignoring Tom and the Patriots. It happens every time! But the Pats like that. Being the underdogs is their thing! ;)

The Seahawks beat the Saints and the 49ers won on the road against Carolina so it will be 49ers at Seahawks with New England at Denver.

So, see you next Sunday at 3:00 on CBS!

It was a great game - perhaps the most consistent performance of the year for the Patriots. I can't wait for Manning vs Brady XV, even though I do fear it will go Peyton's way: the Broncos just have so many weapons. Here's hoping!

That was such an amazing game to watch. I know that the decision for all the ground game was because the Colts had no defense for it though and one thing about Tom Brady is he's not above taking himself out of the spotlight in order to make sure they win.

I'm really sad the Chargers wound up losing; but one thing it does tell me is that the Broncos are in for a loss. If their defense plays that poorly against the Patriots, it's going to be a blowout. I don't think I'd worry about the Broncos too much. The numbers don't lie and Tom definitely has Peyton's. Plus Peyton is a choke artist in the playoffs. :)

LaGarrette Blount is absolutely amazing and I really like Ridley, too! My prediction is a 49ers/Patriots superbowl. The Seahawks have a definite home field advantage but they rely on it too much and the 49ers were one of the teams that beat them during the regular season.

Plus Kaepernick is great in the clutch and I think that the Seahawks are going to have a really hard time overcoming that. Because Russel Wilson and company haven't been playing great football.

One thing I will say, and I am definitely not a Peyton Manning fan, but-- watching the direct post game little interview thing, I had to admit his answers were pretty classy.

Either way, should be a good game!

(Also, that interception/touchdown in the first minute twenty of the game was amazing.)

Yeah! I've always felt like Tom, more than anything else, just loves the game and his team. He's fantastic at the job of QB, but he's such a team player that he'll do what it takes to win.

I forgot to say it before but! Apparently the last time Tom held a ball for a kicker was in the Orange Bowl when he was playing for U of M! (Tom gets extra points 'cuz he's a Wolverine!)

I hope Peyton keeps choking too! :) (Although don't tell my family, but I kind of like Peyton and Eli, haha. They seem like dudes you'd want to get a beer with, ha.)

Well, I know that the Seahawks have home field advantage in the playoff game, but I feel they rely on their advantage too much and the 49ers aren't going to be as rattled by the crowd noise. But I don't know!

I agree! Blount and Ridley are great at running the ball, and hopefully they'll get it done. I think they probably will key on Edelman, too, and try and take him out of the game.

But as we saw over the weekend, The Pats aren't a one trick pony and they're not completely decimated when you take one of their weapons away.

That being said... Julian Fucking Edelman. He's beautiful and great at catching the ball. :3

I've been sort of in and out of watching football for the past few years, so I actually did not even know about Edelman until this year! And I-- I don't remember why I was googling him, but the dude looks like a fucking Ken doll, I swear he's so fashionable ad gorgeous and All-American looking. Haha.

Haha. I just googled pictures of him with his long hair. xD I have to say, I think it worked better for Tom than it did for Julian! :D
