I am dancing around like Robin as I celebrate getting a room in the host hotel at Media*West! Oh, happy day! :)

Now my roomie and I can go a little more elaborate on our door decorations, and the convenience and ambience of being in the hotel is a *huge* plus. I didn't mind walking from our back-up hotel, but it would have been a nuisance. Much better to be *in* the hotel. My karma must be workin' overtime! ;)

And the door will feature a lot of slash couples, including Clark/Bruce and Dick/Roy! :)

*dancing and humming around the room*

On another note, I ate Japanese cuisine for the first time last night and loved it! I especially liked the crisp veggies and noodles, fried rice, the onion mushroom soup, the hibachi chicken, and the *awesome* grilled shrimp! And I topped it off with ginger ice cream! :)

We got to see the chef cook right in front of us, and we had a great time. I thought of [livejournal.com profile] jen_in_japan and [livejournal.com profile] damo_in_japan while I ate my Japanese delicacies with chopsticks and did pretty darned well, I might add!

Life is good! ;)
bradygirl_12: (Bobby Orr)
So the National Hockey League has named the goal that Bobby Orr scored on May 10, 1970, as the greatest goal in the history of the NHL. Kewl! Bobby Orr was the greatest hockey player *evah*! :) He played for the Boston Bruins and brought them their first Stanley Cup in 29 years back in '70. It was a *huge* deal around here. Hockey has always been a hotbed here (college hockey here is like college football in the South) and Bobby Orr and the Big, Bad Bruins ruled the New England sports scene for a very long time. Hockey rinks all over the place were built during their run.

Ever seen the movie "Miracle On Ice"? That movie about the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team showed how the players were drawn from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New England.

As a Due South fan, I had a hockey education to bring to the table! :)

Anyway, it's fun to think of those days and now of course we are enjoying a golden football Renaissance with the New England Patriots, so we've been lucky with our sports teams indeed. The Celtics always used to win, and the Red Sox finally did in '04!

There's nothing quite like that moment of pure joy when your team wins the whole enchilada! :)
