The kid done good! :)
Matt didn’t have any turnovers, got us down the field, and eventually we won the game 19-10. Is he green as Kryptonite at times? Sure, because he hasn’t started a game since high school in 1999, but he did just fine today. He’ll keep learning and getting better. He’s a smart kid.
Pretty, too. ;)
The defense came up big at the right times, Adalius Thomas sacking Brett Favre and Leon Washington at the same time! Washington is a small running back who didn’t have a prayer of stopping Adalius.
All the pundits and certainly the New York media thought this would be a blow-out. I wasn’t sure if the Patriots would win, since Cassel was an unknown quantity, but I doubted it would be a blow-out. Besides, we still have the rest of the team! We’re a very good team with a lot of talent. No counting us out!
It must have killed Tom to be at home watching this game, but I’m sure he texted Matt after the game and encouraged him. He really likes Matt, and they have a good working relationship and are friends.
Our kicker, Stephen Gostowski ("Ghost") did very well, giving us a lot of field goal help.
So, we’re still in the winners’ column so far, and that’s a good thing! :)
