Smallville Help Needed!

Apparently my Smallville karma sucks lemons. Once again, the tape from my sister was messed up. I think she didn't change her VCR clock. *sighs*
Can someone please give me a quick rundown of the episode, "Kandor"? I can't watch it on-line: dial-up and no sound on this computer.
Thanks!

Date: 2009-11-10 02:39 am (UTC)I was confused watching it to honest. I think it's a clone Jor-El. I think... His DNA was placed in the Orb ,along with Zod's.
There was some flashbacks with Zod & Jor-El that made me wanna ship them. Very Babylon 5 to be honest. Made me giggle. I was just too into Oliver's pawning over Clark to get into the flashback but the chemistry between Zod & Jor-El was hot!

So when you say Jor-El, are we talking about the dude in your ice crystal palace thingie?
Date: 2009-11-10 03:17 am (UTC)On Krypton 20 years before its destruction, Zod's troops are up against Black Zero. The Council wants to take their blood for an experiment. Jor-El stops the process when he finds out. Zod thanks him and gives a rousing speech to the troops. Kandor goes boom. Everyone grieves.
Later Jor-El is on trial for treason for having stopped the experiment. The council wants a backup plan in case of destruction, which involves using Jor-El's cloning technology (I thought that was Zor-El?) and sending it to Earth. Jor-El said this would just doom Earth and that wasn't right. He's condemned, but Zod arrives just in time to save his friend with another impassioned speech. The council listens and decrees Jor-El must add his and Zod's blood to the experiment so the survivors will have two of Krypton's greatest heroes to guide them. Zod says Jor-El now owes him.
Later, Jor-El finishes the experiment and exposes the orb to blue K. Zod arrives to give his blood and begs Jor-El to clone his son, killed in the destruction of Kandor. Jor-El refuses - its not right. Zod is furious: think of how you'd feel if you had a son. Jor refuses again and Zod tells him he's now dead to him.
Chloe got information from her LuthorCorp mole about the S symbol in Turkey. Clark can't yet fly himself there so he's going to go economy class. Chloe says he should use Ollie's jet and Ollie pops up. They later are walking through the desert but can't see anything. Clark realizes the heat of arrival would have melted the sand. He takes a deep breath and blows away the sand to reveal the S and finds some dog tags. "Jor-El!"
On the flight home, Clark is angery that Jor-El didn't tell him about Jor-El. Clark thinks the AI fears the real Jor-El will be worse than advertised and that he isn't sure he wants to meet him. Ollie says he'd give anything for a chance to meet his parents again.
Chloe visits the Kent Farm and runs into a stranger who introduces himself as Jor-El. She starts babbling about Clark/Kal-El. Jor is confused, saying he's just in town because he has some "fond" memories from his earlier visit. Chloe can't get through to Clark because of "turbulence" but tries to fill in. Jor hears something and knocks Chloe out. He's then surrounded by goons and tazed. He wakes up in Tess's presence, who tells him he needs to make Zod believe he's the Blur to protect Clark. She gives him an S shirt. Zod shows up to talk to Tess and they play more mind games and as he's leaving says he picked up a little something from the basement. Tess pretends to be furious but is secretly pleased.
Zod beats up Jor-El, wanting to know why he has powers and they don't. Jor does his best to pretend he's the Blur, but Zod sees right through him. He realises that Jor is covering for someone else, and intuits it must be a son.
Clark comes home to find Chloe unconscious, who to figure out what happened reveals she was bugging the farm. Clark is furious and Chloe gives the most insincere apology ever. They see Jor-El being attacked and Clark realises Tess must be behind it. Chloe and Ollie tell him let them handle it but he zooms off.
He shows up at Tess's and tells her he's looked everywhere. Tess again tries to play her game and gets lifted into the air by her neck. She's thrilled to see him using her powers in front of her. She says she did it to protect him. He blurs off to the farm just in time to see Jor-El staggering on his last legs. Jor-El says he doesn't know who killed him, then begs him to save Zod. Another father dies in Clark's arms.
Clark talks to Ollie about all the questions he wanted to ask Jor-El. He says he can never live up to what Jor has done (huh?) but Ollie disagrees - nobody wears the S like Clark. Ollie promises to have Clark's back and Clark says that's good so they can bring the murderer to justice. Back in the Watchtower, Chloe is going through the tapes and sees Jor hiding something in the wall. And Clark buries his father while Zod looks on unnoticed. Clark says he can't save Zod because he knows what he'll become.

Date: 2009-11-10 03:41 am (UTC)Figures I'd miss an episode with all this going on. *rolls eyes*
Clark must have really lost it to use his powers in front of Tess.
Another father dying in Clark's arms! Ouch!
Chloe bugged the farm? She's really going down the dark path this season, isn't she?
The Clark/Ollie scenes sound cool. :)
