Yargh!!!

So I've been cleaning up my tags (changing and deleting the misspelled ones, etc.) and it occurred to me that I could organize them better by 'fandom', 'pairing', 'title', and so on, but I have a gazillion, and while it probably would look better, I'm kind of used to the alphabetical system I have, and if I start, my OCD would kick in and rage and rage! So I think I'll stick to more organized tags on my comms and welcome a little disorganization in my life here. Not that anyone but me uses these tags, anyway, amirite? Talk me out of reorganization, flist! I have A03 archiving to do and other things like writing instead of re-naming tags! :)

I'm probably the last person you'd want to talk you back from that precipice, since I'm so OCD about my own tags. XD I mean, I do characters pairings by both names if a character has more than 1 (ie Clark Kent and Superman), and my fandoms have subfandoms. *is an organization nerd* :p

Heh! It's terrible, this OCD! My indexer background drives me crazy, too! I've done some organization on my comms but here? It's nearly a thousand tags! *facepalms* And once I get the idea, it'll gnaw and gnaw at me until I HAVE to do it, and it'll be a waste of time! Because who's gonna care in ten years about my tags system, if LJ is still even around? :)

I guess if I did it, I would do it in phases, but I really am used to the simple alphabetical system. Maybe I need a place where everything isn't ruthlessly organized. :(

The alphabetical system works just fine (and yes, I do so use it) so there's really no need for the added work. If you add the fandom, pairing and title thing you'll end up with even more tags. Trust me. I did it and gah, just as much work and even more tags to worry about.

I'm glad to hear that someone besides me uses the tags, LOL!

The only thing I might do is put in 'title' and 'series title' tags, though to be honest, I'm resisting pretty well right now. :)

Oh, yeah, I went through that phase when I wanted to make all my tags right, but then I just got tired and gave up. I fixed some of them but to redo everything was too time consuming. So yes, think yours are fine just the way they are! No need to work yourself up over it. :D

Yeah, I think it would be a waste of time. In the end, it really doesn't matter if I have all nice, neat tags as long as people can find things! :)

Eeep, tags! Right now I have like 5, lol! But I haven't really posted too much on this journal. The old one though, I actually went back a few times and changed some because they'd been bugging me. If I went back now, I'd probably change more tags! ;)
