bradygirl_12Week 2: New England Patriots 31, Miami Dolphins 24 (2-0) (Sunday, September 18, 2016)
What a wacky game! It was like Jekyll-and-Hyde out there at Gillette Stadium!
First half: Patriots dominate with a sharp offense and defense. Jimmy G. looks All-Pro. Tommy must have snuck onto the field wearing a Jimmy G. mask. :) Unfortunately, Jimmy was hurt before the second half ended. In came 3rd-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett! This kid is a rookie who hasn't been watching Tom and this offense up-close-and-personal.
Second half: Jacoby's no Jimmy, but he didn't stink up the joint like the Pats' D, who inexplicably became awful in the second half. They'd contained Miami QB Ryan Tannehill very well and then suddenly let him carve them up. The Dolphins kept scoring and were one TD away from tying the game after the Pats kicker missed a field goal to ice the game. Luckily someone was awake on the D and intercepted the ball in the end zone. Phew!
Stand-outs besides Jimmy Garoppolo were Martellus Bennett, Nate Solder, LeGarrette Blount, and Julian Edelman.
So now we have a short week as the guys play Thursday at home against the Houston Texans. Will Jimmy play? I'd bet no due to the shoulder injury, but we won't know for sure until the injury report on Wednesday. Foxboro is like the Kremlin when it comes to information. :)
