Week 8: New England Patriots 22, New York Jets 17 (4-4) (Sunday, October 30, 2022)

Crazy but fun game! The Jets and their fans thought they were going to slay the New England dragon and be on their way but, oops, looks like they'll have to wait. :)

Devin McCourty had two INTs for the defense and a better defense meant a win. Kicker Foulk was gold and the offense actually moved the ball! Mac was under center, so for now he's The Man.

Bill Belichick passed George 'Papa Bear' Halas for coach with the second-most wins. He now has 325 (regular season and postseason), and top man Don Shula has 347, so BB still has a way to go but could reach that goal in 2-3 years if all goes well.

Everyone in the division won this week except for the Jets. The Pats are still dead last but at .500 they're at least out of the hole for now.

Next week the team welcomes the Colts to Gillette.

Always good to beat the Jets! And Devin is one of my favorite players so I was even happier to see him get a couple of picks to help lead the way. The AFC East is tough this year though. It's still just a weird football season in general.
