Valentine’s Day Rules! :)

For our romantic tales, first up is the Johnny/Billie story, From Romania With Love, a ‘classic’ classic tale of Valentine’s Day love! :)

Next features the Gangster Trio of Mel/Johnny/Billie on the run but still appreciating each other despite all obstacles: Thorns ‘N’ Roses.

Finally, a Steve/Diana tale in which they face obstacles from both sides: Steve’s colleagues and Queen Hippolyta and the Amazons: "Us Against The World!"

The one Thanksgiving story I wrote in 2009 was the Public Enemies tale, American (Thanksgiving) Triptych: A Proper Feast (Triptych Series II), in which the Gangster Trio of Johnny, Billie, and Mel enjoy the holiday the year before they all meet, and dream of better days.

The Triptych Series won’t be presented in chronological order. While it will usually focus on the Gangster Trio’s life in Europe, I'll be skipping back to their lives in America before they left the country, which includes this story.
Originally this story was going to be only Johnny and his gang, but Mel and Billie insisted upon inclusion, so what can I say? They’re very persuasive! ;)

Author’s Notes: I often use canon as a jumping-off point into other possibilities, though there are plenty of canon stories from this fandom coming up on my ‘To Write’ List. ;) Isn’t it great to be in on the start of a new fandom? :) This story, however, is one of those where events branched off from the movie timeline at some point, and there was a happier ending than that of the events at the Biograph Theater in Chicago on the night of July 22, 1934. If John Dillinger had survived that night, or it hadn’t happened at all, it would make sense that he and the ones who loved him couldn’t stay in America. I haven’t gone into details on the hows and whys, and may only hint at them in the next two installments of this trilogy, but I hope you enjoy this little tale of love ‘undercover’. I’d recommend reading the first story in this trilogy, but in case you don’t, Johnny is Jack, Billie is Willa, and Mel is A.J. :)
