Preseason (Week 4) New York Giants 20, New England Patriots 17, (2-2) (Thursday, September 2, 2010)
The fourth preseason game is usually a yawner, played mostly by bubble guys and scrubbinis, but this time we did get to see the first string play for awhile, probably because Coach Belichick was not pleased by their performance in the last game. And Tom played a final preseason game for the first time since 2003. This game is generally known as the “Please Let No One Get Hurt” game before the real games start.
The offense looked good. I can’t tell you how much Patriots Nation is happy to see tight ends being used in the offense again! Besides Tom’s, that is. ;) (BTW, I like Tom's long hair! :)
The defense…argh, what can I say? Looks like a repeat of last year: young, inexperienced DBs who are letting even scrubbini QBs go slicin’ ‘n’ dicin’ down the middle. Huge chunks of yardage are being racked up by the pass and sometimes by the running game. The offense will have to score at least 35 points a game to win. Yeesh!
So, it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride this year! I don’t know if the boys will make it to the Super Bowl again, but they’ll be trying! And I’ll be with him every frustrating, exhilarating, fantabulous step of the way! You’ll get the NFL season through the eyes of a New England Patriots fan right here on this journal! ;)
