The [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang and [livejournal.com profile] dcu_bang will be opening soon for artists to claim stories (this Saturday at noon EDT). Stories are up now for early perusal, so if you're interested, check 'em out! Marvel's are here and DC's are here. Marvel has 35 stories and DC has 5 this year.

Funny how Muses work. My [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang started slowly, even though I had the beginning and end and some scenes I wanted to put into the middle. For whatever reason, despite my deadlines, it was slow going at first, to the point that I wondered if I would have to drop out (which would have been a first for me!) but this past week has been all Big Bang, and I should have the last chapter finished this week. *fingers crossed* I did have to submit my manuscript at the final check-in at 80% instead of 100%, which is a first for me. Still, it's been a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing if an artist claims my story today. :)

(Preseason) Week 3: New England Patriots 19, Carolina Panthers 17 (3-0) (Friday, August 26, 2016)

Jimmy G. chose the wrong week to regress.

The third preseason game is the most important, as the starters play the longest. Called a dress rehearsal by the media and fans, the players don't like that term but tough! That's what we call it. :)

As always, a preseason game is a mixed bag. We did have a stout defense as they made 3 interceptions on a good Carolina team's starters, but the Panthers were having trouble getting their engine going. The same thing plagued Jimmy G. this week, who looked pretty good last week. He regressed and it was glaringly evident after his lackluster performance when Tom came in for his first reps of the preseason and fired off a perfectly-thrown ball to Chris Hogan for a pretty TD! Quarterback controversy? Hahahahaha!!! Tom was just reminding everyone of who is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT)! :)

Third-stringer QB Jacoby Brissett looked pretty good, but of course the caveat is that he was playing against third-stringers himself. But, he's a rookie and he could be awful out there and he wasn't. So that's in his favor.

Now, if Tommy was at his rightful place at the helm in Week 1 I'd say the Pats had a good chance of beating the Cardinals on the road, but with Jimmy G.? Very iffy. However, the kid's smart and if he can limit the mistakes, the defense might be able to carry the game, and the first-stringers like Gronk, who hasn't played all preseason, will be playing, too.

It's just infuriating that a shining talent like Tommy has to sit out A QUARTER OF THE SEASON FOR NOTHING!!! No proof, no evidence, nada, zip, zilch! Just envious, greedy NFL owners who gave Goodell his marching orders: get the Patriots, even if you have to make stuff up! Unfortunately, Tom's the victim of that vendetta. I'll be posting an entry about Deflategate and its stupidity and corruption before the season begins and you can judge for yourself.

Tommy is wearing his hair right now in a way that makes him look ten years younger! Not bad for a 39-year-old! :)
