Story Claiming Open Soon!

The marvel_bang and dcu_bang will be opening soon for artists to claim stories (this Saturday at noon EDT). Stories are up now for early perusal, so if you're interested, check 'em out! Marvel's are here and DC's are here. Marvel has 35 stories and DC has 5 this year.

Funny how Muses work. My marvel_bang started slowly, even though I had the beginning and end and some scenes I wanted to put into the middle. For whatever reason, despite my deadlines, it was slow going at first, to the point that I wondered if I would have to drop out (which would have been a first for me!) but this past week has been all Big Bang, and I should have the last chapter finished this week. *fingers crossed* I did have to submit my manuscript at the final check-in at 80% instead of 100%, which is a first for me. Still, it's been a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing if an artist claims my story today. :)

This is my first Marvel Bang, and so far so good. I did my rough draft, 80% finished, and now am working on finishing and polishing. I'm really enjoying this process - I've done several challenges in the last couple of years, and it's just about the only way I get any writing done these days. Good luck with your story! :-)

Big Bangs are great challenges for a writer. I try to do one per year. This one is almost finished! :)

Yay! How many have you done over the years?
It's going to take me a bit longer. I've pretty much finished all the parts with Donald Blake. It was originally going to be a 5+1. But something was "missing", and then I decided I needed to show what was going on in Asgard as well. That will only be a few paragraphs per chapter, but more work to do. Then I have to get it beta-ready - I'm hoping to have that done by weekend after next.

I started in 2011 and did four that year. The fourth was a zine project with a minimum word count. Believe me, not doing THAT again! But I was writing white-hot at the time.

Every year since then I've done one per year. I thought that I might have to pass this year but got an idea before sign-ups closed. Yay for Cap 3! :)

I love your use of Donald Blake. Movie fans don't have a clue about Thor's comics history.
