Trying To De-Stress

Hi, luvs! Well, as you know if you've been following my journal, I've been under tremendous stress lately with the House Project. It's overwhelming at times. :(

What helps me relax is going to my journal and looking at the layout with the pretty clouds and rainbow kite. ;) And my profile pic of Steve and Diana always makes me smile. :) I wish I had the energy and inspiration to write something for that pic, maybe combining it with the layout.

Anyone hear anything about smallvillebbang or superbat_bb? If they're not being hosted this year I think I might sign up for dcu_bang. I have a ready-made story! :)

Anyone signed up for Big Bangs this year?

I signed up for a Criminal Minds big bang, but the writing of it is not going well.

That's a shame! Big Bangs can be so intimidating, can't they? :(

It is! I've pretty much only ever completed one of the many that I've signed up for.

I've found the only way I can complete a Big Bang is to make sure I have a solid idea when I sign up and a look at my schedule to see if I have the time to write it. :) Like an idiot, back in 2011 I signed up for THREE Big Bangs all at the same time and a zine project! *headdesks* But I finished all four on time, so that was a major accomplishment! But...NEVER AGAIN!!! ;)

If I haven't offered them before, you have my full sympathy on the house moving. Other than a death in the family there is nothing more stressful. And actually, after my most recent experience, I think it might be worse. Although that could have something to do with my particular situation.

Anyway, if you ever need to vent or cry on someone's shoulder, holler. I will completely understand.

I have sworn off heavy duty challenges for the rest of the year. It's just pressure free things like the ones you run for me. That way maybe my plate will be at least reasonably cleared off when it's time for Yuletide Treasures.

I agree with you about packing up your parents' treasures and having to move being almost as stressful as deaths in the family. Memories are powerful and are triggered by objects, and it's like you're going through the whole grieving process again.

I sympathize with your situation. I know it's stressful not to have complete control over your living situation.

I enjoy presenting my Challenges with as little pressure as possible! :) I like to give people a lot of leeway to be creative. I do enjoy participating in Big Bangs for the challenge of meeting the deadlines with so many words, but I had to swear off them for the foreseeable future. It's only because I have a ready-made story that I can sign up this year.

Hey girl! Good luck on the destressing. It's exhausting, moving. Good luck to you! Wish I knew the answer on the shows but I don't, and I can't do a big bang. But just wanted to say good luck and hugs. Also go you on a ready-made story! Awesome!

On my recent trip home, I ended up doing a lot of sorting through just my own stuff, and that was wearing. Doing a whole house? Exhausting.

I always like looking at your layouts- they're so pretty!

Yeah, we're talking a house with decades of stuff stored away. Some of it hadn't been touched in years. It's amazing how a relatively small house can hold so much stuff! :)

*hugs* I'm sorry the House Project is so stressful, though I fully understand why it is. When I've cleared stuff out in the past... it's very upsetting, so I can't imagine doing a whole house and dealing with all the memories triggered...

The House Project is something I never want to experience again. :( At least I'll have two weeks off as everyone else aren't available the next two weekends.
