Hi, luvs! Well, as you know if you've been following my journal, I've been under tremendous stress lately with the House Project. It's overwhelming at times. :(

What helps me relax is going to my journal and looking at the layout with the pretty clouds and rainbow kite. ;) And my profile pic of Steve and Diana always makes me smile. :) I wish I had the energy and inspiration to write something for that pic, maybe combining it with the layout.

Anyone hear anything about [livejournal.com profile] smallvillebbang or [livejournal.com profile] superbat_bb? If they're not being hosted this year I think I might sign up for [livejournal.com profile] dcu_bang. I have a ready-made story! :)

Anyone signed up for Big Bangs this year?

Hi, luvs! I'll be posting more zines for sale soon. I hope you'll be able to find something to your liking. It'll help a fellow fan who could use the money for upcoming expenses and it'll help not to lug a lot of heavy boxes around, too.

The House Project has been very difficult for me lately. Every time I turn around it's like something else is gone. It's hard to see the pieces of my parents' lives thrown in the dumpster, and some pieces of mine, too. I just learned that a set of old newspapers with some important family history was thrown out. Honest-to-Goddess, I can't be everywhere! The people are here to help out but right now I feel like yelling at them to get out and leave me alone and STOP TAKING MY STUFF! A beautiful grandfather clock was claimed and I would have liked to have kept it at least until I left but, no, my wishes aren't worth much. I don't care about fucking downsizing or anything else, I'm just tired of sorting, organizing, dumping and what-have-you. I'm angry, upset and hurt right now, and to top it off, I checked my profile and my icon package is going to expire, so the one place where I feel that I have some control and joy is going to be less joyful with the loss of most of my icons! *shrugs* When does it all end?

I know it sounds like a little kid complaining but this is my life and my parents' lives. I hate the necessity and if I hear one more time that it's the memory and not the item that's important, I'll hit someone. The newspapers were FAMILY HISTORY, damnit! Stop judging things hings just because they're yellowing and aged as to what they're worth. I'm heartsick. Maybe I'm just a sentimental fool. I don't know anymore.

Please consider the zines I'll be posting. I could use the help. Thank you.

Hi, luvs! You know me, pretty quick with replies to comments and comments on other people's work? Quick with updating Challenges?

Well, things may be slower for awhile. Not only is it hit-or-miss with posting (LJ!) but with the House Project and my manuscript edits DUE IN TWO WEEKS (Yikes!) I might not be as quick as a bunny for the time being. You should see the kajillion lists I have for everything!

So don't worry, fannish stuff will get done, but maybe not as fast as you're used to seeing by me. I guess it's a good thing [livejournal.com profile] dark_fest doesn't seem to be viable this year. Anyone know anything? I PM'ed the mods a few weeks ago but haven't heard from them. Oh, well, if it's not on, that spares me a lot of time that I need to use for other things, disappointing as it may be.

See ya later! ;)

Hi, luvs! My sister and I have decided to put the house on the market, if not this year, maybe next. Anyway, we're clearing it out as if we're going to sell (we most likely are) so I need some advice on how to clear out a house with accumulated stuff of 56 years. :) We did some clearing after my parents' deaths but then stopped. We didn't have the heart for it, I guess. No Ebay, unless I can contact a guy we know and pay him a commission. We just don't have time to learn how to use it or pay the fees. Anyway, some questions for you:

1) Vintage clothing--We have some men's and women's clothing from the '70s and '80s in excellent condition. Would it be worth calling vintage clothing shops and see if they would take them? Or are they looking for older stuff?

2) Books--Would it be worth calling any bookstores to see if they would buy some? If we can't sell or give them away, I guess it's the trash for them, which I hate doing. Would people be interested in some fan-related books from the '70s and '80s, some in well-worn condition but all the pages are good? :)

3) VCR tapes--I have hundreds of them. If I can't give them away (I assume people aren't going to buy them since DVDs have superseded them), any suggestions? Or just the trash? :(

4) Cassette tapes--Would people be interested in cassettes? Or is that technology just too old? Do you think there's a place to donate tapes?

5) Zines--My problem with zines is I'm afraid of over-or-underpricing them. What is the rule on asking prices? What you paid for them? What if you have some K/S zines from the '70s in very good condition? Some might be more valuable than their cover price, though most aren't, I know. Any places you know of on-line that might be a clearinghouse? I do intend to check out [livejournal.com profile] digitalwave's [livejournal.com profile] dusty_corners. Any place else?

Okay, that's all for now, folks! I'll ask any more questions that I can dream up. :)

Needless to say, with this major project in the works and my pro novel's edits deadline at the end of February, I might be quiet on LJ this month. ;)
