I've got a few more thoughts on Big Bangs. Ever since I've been on LJ (five years this fall), I've resisted them because of the word count and the timeframe. I know I can bang out 10,000+ words, but on MY timeline. However, new challenges keep my writing fresh, and the minimum of 10,000 words was an encouragement for me to sign up.

I would HIGHLY recommend trying a Big Bang if you've never done so before, or you're waffling whether or not to sign up. Why? Because if you're in need of a boost, stuck in a rut, or using a searchlight to find your Muses, this could be your solution!

Now, I would recommend that you at least have a plot idea before signing up, and perhaps do a quick outline to see if you can reach the minimum, but I know I'm juggling two Big Bangs right now and finished my first, and it's really helping my output and creativity! So if you have an old idea lying around you've wanted to do for years and would prefer a more relaxed schedule than NaNoWriMo and a lesser word count, I would say go for it! You can always drop out and try again, because sometimes the time isn't right, but you'll never know unless you try! ;)

Hi, gang!

Funny how the fannish winds blow. For months now, my white-hot passion for Public Enemies had cooled, and I hadn't watched the movie in months, either. I figured for a movie fandom, it had a good run. I still loved the characters and had some ideas in my notebooks, but I hadn't posted any stories in awhile, either.

Then I watched the movie on July 22nd, the 77th anniversary of John Dillinger's death, and maybe it was the date and the fact that it was as hot as that historic Chicago night here, but I felt my passion re-ignited for these characters. I'm listening to the CD for the movie right now and am typing away! :)

No worries about less DC from me, though. I'm busy working on the [livejournal.com profile] superbat_bb and other stories from the Queue of Doom (heh heh), and it was literally my first fandom since I began reading comics as soon as I learned how to read. :)

I never worry too much about my passions for particular fandoms. They can lay dormant for years and come back to me. Besides, like writing, I can't control my Muses or my fannish passions.

Expect a flurry of PE stories from me now! I just finished writing one tonight in the grand tradition of those Clark/Bruce classics, Spicy Peppers And Lush Tomatoes and Where's The Beef?". You know me and food! ;) And my [livejournal.com profile] history_bigbang is a good, long, juicy PE story.

I heard from my partner-in-crime, [livejournal.com profile] siriusfanatic, just this very night that she might have had a re-ignition of her Muses for this fandom, too! Awesome sauce! I've been reading her stories and admittedly, some of my mine, heh heh. I must say that The House At 1313 Maple Street is one of those that I'm rather proud of. :)

Sexy men in fedoras! What's not to love? ;)

Bunny Hop

Ack! My bunnies are really hoppin' now! :) I meant to write [livejournal.com profile] jen_in_japan's Steve/Diana request with a few chapters at most. Naturally, not!! ;) This baby is starting to grow a little.

And [livejournal.com profile] blackrosebard's request of Ollie comforting Dinah after the loss of Larry is starting to bubble.

I've even had a few ideas simmering for the remaining three!

Whew, I thought getting fic prompts might stall the Muses. Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case! :)

Maybe I'm just still hyper from training camp! ;)

Revelation

Okay, so I'm sitting here working on my pro novel while alternating typing up Chapter Four of "Rainbow's Freedom" while my mind drifts to the next "RF" arc. I'm figuring, well, I've got the beginning and ending pretty well figured out, and a few middle chapters, but it doesn't look like it'll be as long as the first arc. No biggie, as I'm not planning to match the arc lengths, anyway.

Then...a revelation from on high! Or maybe from down low, considering the evil of my writing. ;) Anyway, I was running through the timeframe of the holidays: events at Halloween; at least one event in November, and at least one in December. That means a heckuva lot more chapters all of a sudden! *claps hands* I *love* it when the Muses sing their siren songs to me! :)

So it looks like I'll be filling up the rest of the Superman notebook and starting another (wish I could find the Batman notebook) with lots of words, words, words! Hmm, besides "RF", the other hot ideas nudging their way from the back of the burner to the front are the Clex fic (tentatively titled "Champagne And Apple Cider"), a handful of drabbles, and a new B/D fic that starts with poor Dick recovering from a nasty strain of flu. *blows nose* So it looks like a lot of fun to come!

Amazing how Muses work, isn't it?
