Hi, luvs! Well, it's summertime, and that means another food poll! ;) Seafood and side dishes are your choices. I did split up the fries into three types for more fun. :)

Mmm, just imagine yourself on the wharf with the seagulls flying around the fishing boats and the smell of fish and onion rings frying and picking out what size lobster you want. :)

Feel free to mention anything not in the polls!

Enjoy and vote! :)

Only if fish is breaded and fried or baked would I ever think to have french fries or a baked potato with it (ala fish and chips). I usually marinate fish and saute or bake it or bake it in wine/lemon, so 95% of the time I serve fish with rice. If it's a teriaki salmon, I go with Jasmine rice. Sole in lemon sauce might have regular or brown rice. I serve risotto with a lot of fish dishes as well. And, I make a mean salmon pasta dish, too.

I do love a good beer battered cod with chips, though, too, just not in the middle of the country. There's a Belgian pub in London I found a couple of years ago that made the best fish & chips.

For salmon, I prefer sushi and sashimi - yum! But not really an on-the-beach dish.

If it's clams or mussels, I don't waste space with "side dishes." That's valuable space that could be filled with more clams or mussels!

If I'm having fried calamari, I tend to go with the fried vegetables. Anything else I tend to go for either rice or pasta.

Deep Fried Grouper with Wasabi Tartar Sauce with Fries. Preferably from the 1912 restaurant in the Crowne Plaza in Pensacola.

or

The Blackened Fish Sandwich from Flounders (Pensacola Beach) with fries.

or

The Ginger Pecan Crusted Grouper with Cheese Grits from the Fish House (Pensacola)

Have I made anyone want to come visit Pensacola?

Salmon sucks. I've tried it several ways... sucked every time. Blech. And I've never been fond of lobster but I'll eat shrimp and crab 3 meals a day. Plus why, oh why do they only give such little tiny dippy-dabs of tartar sauce? That's one of the best parts! Gimme moars! Oh, catfish! Y'all missed catfish! Used to be a lil' hole in the wall joint near my old job that did a bang-up slab o' catfish, mmmmm...

I chose lobster, but there isn't one thing on that list I would turn down. (also, clams/mussels/oysters is choice 2. I love clams!!)

Oh my, so hungry now!

I had fresh steamed mussels yesterday and today and I'd thought that would tide me over for a while, but then I read this post...!
