Hi, luvs! I'm always embarrassed to ask this, but there are reasons I can't do it myself. :( My paid account here on DW is expiring in two weeks and that means I won't be able to import my comms over here. If you can, could you please renew my paid account? I would be so grateful. I can offer fic in thanks.

And while I'm asking, if anyone can tape the Patriots-Broncos game on the NFL Network tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 9:00 (goes to 11, I believe), I would like to get a copy. I can only use a VHS tape (yep, no DVR, but you're talking to someone with dial-up and other knives and bearskins, Captain!) but it would make this Pats fan heart happy. :)

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is on CBS tonight at 8:00!

Just a heads-up for Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer fans: it's airing tonight on CBS at 8:00 EST. :)

I've watched it every year since I was five years old. It's my favorite, with Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town a close second. :)

Another attack on LJ! Yeesh! Glad I could post this.

Watching Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is always fun. The message of accepting differences is a good one, too. As a five-year-old seeing it for the first time, it made a big impression on me, though admittedly, I wondered why a red nose, difference or not, was such a big deal.

Homophobia in Christmastown? )

It's that time of year for the old Christmas chestnuts.  Just watching 'It's A Wonderful Life' for the zillionth time (love those bells!) and have already watched 'Rudolph' and 'Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town'.  I plan on dragging out a favorite of my mom's, 'White Christmas', and will probably watch the 1945 movie, 'Christmas In Connecticut'.  It's a b&w film that starred Barbara Stanwyck as a women's magazine writer who was faking her domesticity and she and her editor had to do some fancy footwork when the magazine's publisher wanted to spend Christmas at the Connecticut farm where he thought she wrote her column!  It's a good movie and another favorite of Mom's.  Dad would watch them with her, too, as would my sister and me.

I guess Christmas is a time of year for tradition.  In a place of honor on the organ (circa 1906) is a little 'onion' snowman.  It wasn't made from real onions but the design makes you think so.  :)  Anyway, it was the very first Christmas decoration my parents bought when they were married in 1957.  It still has its glitter and a cute little smile.

The tree has ornaments that not only was collected by my parents, sister, and myself, but those from my grandparents and friends and family.  The theme for the tree?  Just love and tradition.  :)
