Steve stared out through the glass of Stark Tower. Snow was piled on rooftops and down on the street far below, glittering in the pristine air. Frosted patterns were scattered across the windows, creating a beautiful set of wintry designs. He carefully touched the glass. )

Hi, luvs! Life has been terribly bizzy and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, so don't expect me to be on-line as much as in the past. :) But I still have some time every day to check my mail and flist, and to slip in a few fics now and then on the ol' journal. ;)

As far as profic goes, the work is slow because it's been expanded, and FFP is a start-up with its own fits and starts. I thank everyone who are still interested. I hope that publication will be this year but who knows in the crazy publishing business? Anyway, I'm getting valuable experience.

Anticipation is half the fun, and that's what I'm feeling for Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and Star Trek 2: Into Darkness for the month of May. I expect nothing! I've been disappointed too many times in the past but have high hopes for at least Iron Man 3. I'm also anticipating Man Of Steel (very nervous about that one!), Thor 3: The Dark World, and The Lone Ranger. I'll consider Man Of Steel an Elseworld, like Smallville. My blood pressure will thank me! :)

Happily anticipating Captain America: The Winter Soldier, too, but I don't think that's due out 'til next year. I remember reading the comics as a kid and wanting to hug poor Cap, who mourned over Bucky, his best pal. Probably survivor's guilt mixed in with his PTSD, though they didn't call it PTSD at the time. I'll admit that I 'shipped Steve/Bucky as much as Steve/Tony way before any of the movies. :)

I'm not sure what to expect with The Lone Ranger. Frankly, it looks kind of weird. It's a sure bet that you'll have to throw out any notions of the old TV shows and movies with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. A pity that the 1981 remake bombed so badly and now this one could do the same, but hopefully they'll rein in Johnny Depp and the film will be coherent. :)

Nice weather lately, with that special light you only get in April. I walked home from a meeting on Wednesday night and enjoyed seeing the full moon in all its glory.

Hope you're enjoying the fanfics I'm posting! I'm working my way through a batch that have been in my notebooks for quite awhile. :)

Pervy, have you seen this Cap & Bucky tale over on [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily? *wipes away a tear*

For any fans of Cap, it's a beautiful telling of the last days of World War II, the loss that traumatized him, and his rescue by the Avengers in the early '60s.

Okay, I am *so* tired of DC and Marvel screwing up the characters of comicdom! For cryin' out...first DC thinks it's a great idea to kill off Superman. Sure, it made the mainstream media and briefly boosted sales, but they brought him back, so it was all kinda cheesy in a way. Same for Captain America, who apparently is going to be killed by an assassin with the latest issue. Here's the URL if you'd like to read all about it, as the newsboys used to say hawking their papers on the street corner: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17499797/

I know death never lasts forever in the comics world, but it just irritates me NO END that they do stuff like this. Hey, we can do it in fanfic, but this is the *canon mainstream* we're talking about! It just smacks of a cheap trick to me. Bleah.

Oh, yeah. And DC considered KILLING OFF DICK GRAYSON recently! Is there no end to their evil?

I must be the kiss of death. Dick is one of my favorites in DC, and Cap is my fave character in all of Marvel, so he goes! :)

Well, I shouldn't be surprised. They retconned Bucky to be some surly assassin *while* he was Bucky, doing all the dirty work while Cap got the glory during World War II. They also took an event that was always heartrending, Bucky's death in the final days of the war, which haunted Cap for years after he was revived by the Avengers in the early '60s, and screwed that up. Apparently Bucky was kept in suspended animation and only let out to do assassinations for the Soviets as the Winter Soldier. Bleah, bleah, and *triple* bleah! Must be a sign of the times. Take a good, strong friendship between Steve and Bucky and retcon it into some twisted relationship and oh, by the way, make Bucky out to be some cold-blooded killer, why dontcha? Am I the only one getting a headache? *rolls eyes*

So there you have it! Marvel, you suck.
