A contemplative, rather bittersweet piece in the Man Of Steel ‘verse:

Author’s Notes: *Clark/Bruce is more pre-slash but the foreshadowing is so strong I consider it emotional slash at least. :) Bruce doesn’t appear until the end of this story.
I figure that Clark worked on a lobster boat during his travels. Most likely the scene we saw in the movie was down in the Gulf because of the oil rig so any boat work down there would have been shrimp. :)
My first posted Clark/Bruce story of the year! :) .
Ha, ha, couldn’t resist the title! ;)

Cool mist lightly caressed Clark’s face as he used the line to lower the lobster trap. A flock of seagulls followed the boat, eager to catch any falling bait. )

Hi, luvs!

We got hit with a foot of snow last week. Had to dig out!

I’ve also been on the downlow because of not feeling that well. I’ve had an upset stomach and my temp’s up a few degrees. A bit chilled, too.

It’s funny, when I had my 104-degree temp a few years ago I never even noticed it as I walked around until I started to get pain. I was surprised at this temp, too.

Some fannish stuff + a few Super Bowl thoughts )

Hi, luvs!

I'm busy working on the new Halloween Challenge. Keep your eyes on this journal! Coming soon! ;)

Take a peek at the awesome banner that [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60 has already created here. Is that spooky goodness or what? ;)

Very bizzy with profic, of course. I finished my edits for Volume 2 yesterday (99%, have a bit more) and hope to get that sent off by the end of the week, and Volume 3 by next weet.

My fanfic energies are focused on the Avengers seaside story, which has been very relaxing for me to write. I don't think I'll have a chance to work on fanfic tomorrow (profic is on the agenda and going out to the movies at night) but it has no deadline, for which I'm happy. I do have to send my final draft in for the [livejournal.com profile] dcu_bang soon. It's done, but I've been so bizzy I haven't had time to e-mail it! With dial-up it takes a looong time for 20,000+ words to get sent, so I need some time. :)

I gave up long ago trusting my memory for stuff so I have posted a note in my Reminder folder to get that mailed, and the fridge has a note for the remainder of the bills to be paid this Wednesday. Don't bother to trust your memory. Write it down! You'll get in less trouble that way. ;)

I've got some Man Of Steel ideas floating around and a new Natasha/Pepper story to write, and I may tackle a prompt on [livejournal.com profile] avengerkink. I'm allowing my cauldron to bubble and simmer and hopefully come up with a spooky story for the new Challenge. :)

Author’s Notes: This series will be set in Nolanverse and gradually explain how Clark and Bruce got together, but first, outsiders are asking, “Are they or aren’t they?” The series follows canon but with my own changes, so while there will be canon, there will be departures from it as well. The entire series can be found here.

Clark waved as the young man at the wheel parked and cut the engine of the shiny red Corvette. It looked glaringly incongruous in their humble driveway. )

Hi, luvs! Did you have a good Canada Day and Fourth of July last week? :)

Bizzy at work today but with enough time to sneak in this entry. How do you like my newest icon? It was created by the talented [livejournal.com profile] ctbn60. You should totally go over to her journal and check out how many wonderful banners, icons, story covers, etc., that she has for display. The Man Of Steel icons are here and are absolutely gorgeous! :)

Is anyone else a Faora/Nathan fan? ;)

So, darlings, it's HOT as you-know-what here. Terrible weather. I can't get people who say they love hot, humid weather. People LIKE standing or sitting still and sweating? *shakes head*

Writing goes well. I finally might be able to post a few things later this week. If not, probably next week.

Hi, luvs! Life has been terribly bizzy and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, so don't expect me to be on-line as much as in the past. :) But I still have some time every day to check my mail and flist, and to slip in a few fics now and then on the ol' journal. ;)

As far as profic goes, the work is slow because it's been expanded, and FFP is a start-up with its own fits and starts. I thank everyone who are still interested. I hope that publication will be this year but who knows in the crazy publishing business? Anyway, I'm getting valuable experience.

Anticipation is half the fun, and that's what I'm feeling for Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and Star Trek 2: Into Darkness for the month of May. I expect nothing! I've been disappointed too many times in the past but have high hopes for at least Iron Man 3. I'm also anticipating Man Of Steel (very nervous about that one!), Thor 3: The Dark World, and The Lone Ranger. I'll consider Man Of Steel an Elseworld, like Smallville. My blood pressure will thank me! :)

Happily anticipating Captain America: The Winter Soldier, too, but I don't think that's due out 'til next year. I remember reading the comics as a kid and wanting to hug poor Cap, who mourned over Bucky, his best pal. Probably survivor's guilt mixed in with his PTSD, though they didn't call it PTSD at the time. I'll admit that I 'shipped Steve/Bucky as much as Steve/Tony way before any of the movies. :)

I'm not sure what to expect with The Lone Ranger. Frankly, it looks kind of weird. It's a sure bet that you'll have to throw out any notions of the old TV shows and movies with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. A pity that the 1981 remake bombed so badly and now this one could do the same, but hopefully they'll rein in Johnny Depp and the film will be coherent. :)

Nice weather lately, with that special light you only get in April. I walked home from a meeting on Wednesday night and enjoyed seeing the full moon in all its glory.

Hope you're enjoying the fanfics I'm posting! I'm working my way through a batch that have been in my notebooks for quite awhile. :)

OMIGOSH, THE AVENGERS MOVIE IS FANTASTIC!!!

I went to see the movie as a treat for myself after so many worries lately and thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots to talk about and oodles of spoilers, so be warned!

Here be my Midgardian Review )

I just hope that The Dark Knight Rises can compete with this film. The Avengers are smashing box office records like the Hulk. Marvel put in a long-term plan which is coming to full fruition with its mega-opening last weekend. They carefully cultivated a series of films showcasing their heroes and culminated in this Avengers extravaganza.

What has DC done in the past four year? Released the highly successful The Dark Knight but also Jonah Hex and Green Lantern. Real box office winners there, folks! They had a Justice League movie planned but felt that people would be too confused if they included Superman and Batman and if the ‘verse ended up different from their films. I can’t help but wonder if Christopher Nolan’s ridiculous insistence that Batman is the only hero nixed the JLA idea and any connection of DC heroes. I suppose Green Lantern never mentioned any other heroes, and Man Of Steel won’t. Marvel treated its Trinity of Captain America, Iron Man and Thor with respect. While DC will always green-light Superman and Batman, Wonder Woman will never get a movie. I suppose DC considers her out and Green Lantern in when it comes to the Trinity now. *shakes fist at DC and Warner Brothers*

I highly recommend seeing The Avengers (They are already green-lighted for the sequel, which isn’t surprising when you look at the box office numbers). Chris Evans said that originally they wanted him to sign for nine movies but reduced it to six. I assume that means movies with one hero mixed in with multi-hero Avengers films. You know, actually acknowledging that other heroes exist! What a concept!
